i agree with the person who said people didnt like the original hills cast. when the hills first came out the same people were saying its stupid, then when season 3 started everybody was all over it! i really liked the city because it seems more genuine. its a more grown up show than the hills. so im loving it already. so go look at the first two episodes of the hills, then look at the first two episodes of the city and tell me which one is better. The City!
this show kind of reminds me when they did laguna beach 3 and newport beach .. it wasnt that intresting at all .. yeah you could sit down and watch it. but def not excited about Monday getting here so i can watch the city..

i loved it. it makes me remember why i fell in love with the Hills to begin with; The Fashion, The Night life, the friendships and the relationships. I thought Whitney looked gorgous most of the show and I so want her legs. I mean let's face it, half the reason we watch is to see how they look and she was great in that respect. She wore the cutest outfits (and shoes) and best of all there was actual dating! When is the last time we saw Lauren look interested in anything except bashing Audrina or eating and gossiping with Lo? I thought The City was a refreshing change from all the blandness The Hills has been serving us lately. Whitney seess open to sharing her whole life with us including dating and frankly Lauren seems like she's just over it all. I'll keep watching!!

But unfortunately, I think that's the problem for me. The Hills is fun to me because its stupid people acting immature and vapid. Not to say Whitney is perfect, but she's a little too grounded for me to make fun of. When you take away the snark factor, its just a pretty show. But I'll still watch in case it gets better.
I did think Whitney looked gorgeous and I agree the fashion's better on this show.
it was ok, but itll grow on me for sure. im glad that whitney is now able to show her professional and personal life on screen. my only complaints are: olivia: she seems fake and she will probably, just by looking at her, betray whitney in some way. something doesnt seem right about her. jay: i dont like him, but him and whitney are cute together.
By the way I loved the hills day 1 I knew it was going be good unlike THE CITY. I agree feels weird without lauren. Maybe lauren should move to new york(smile).

She doesnt do anything on The Hills but eat, bitch and gossip with Lo. She doesnt even date on camera anymore, I think that was the whole reason The Hills started anyway. Hmmmm, thought it was interesting to see Olivia on The City. Known as the up-and-coming socialite who was brought down by Socialite Rank, maybe she'll make a comeback.
i loved the city. i thought whitney looks amazing and she really came out of her shell. they kind of jumped right into things instead of showing her arriving in ny which was kind of wierd but also good. i loved all the clothes and seeing the city as a backdrop - i live here!! but the best part is seeing guys again, i've hated rody and spencer from the start and it's nice to see other guys and dates and all the fun stuff that laguna has and we haven't seen on the hills since season 1!
^I agree. New York beats LA hands down (although I have to admit I’m just not a fan of LA – I mean, it doesn’t even feel like a city to me). And the fashion is so much better, too.
I like Whitney and I find her more charming than Lauren to be honest, although Lauren has gotten a lot better since her beginning days (I remember her just staring at people a lot - I know some was editing but I read that some people had noticed this in real life as well). I guess I just found her kind of, I don’t know, empty headed? on Laguna Beach, so I remember being surprised that people liked her so much. But I have grown to like her and I think she’s gotten more of a personality. But I do think Whitney’s already ahead of when Lauren started the Hills.
But while I like Whitney, I’m not so sure about the rest of the cast. I actually like Olivia, although she seems like she’s acting a little too hard. Also, why did they keep saying that her party was an “uptown” party when it was taking place in TriBeCa? I hate how they’re trying to set up some uptown vs downtown thing – its so stupid. Jay is nice eye candy (IMO), but he kind of gets on my nerves. The one though who I find really annoying is her roommate or friend or whatever. She’s a little too woo-hoo I’m so free-spirited and bohemian (yet live in a hella expensive apt) for me to take seriously.
whitney is just tooo nice for the city, people there are just gonna eat her alive and walk all over her. Starting with that jay dude who is there to promote his music.
give the show a chance. I still love the Hills but it has become pretty lame since Lauren stopped dating on the show or talking about real issues in her life. I think/hope this will be a pretty good alternative.
