A Laguna Hook Up reader emailed this article about Dieter [Thanks!]. It talks about the positive things he's doing. It is very interesting, you should definitely check it out. Here is an excerpt from the article...During the past year and a half, Dieter Schmitz has graduated from high school and gone off to college -- with the added stress of having his social life broadcast on TV.
As a star of MTV's "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County," the 19-year-old Schmitz has steered away from the entertainment industry and directed the momentum of the show's popularity toward preventing teen suicide.
On Dec. 18, Schmitz intends to run and bike 120 miles from Tijuana to Laguna Beach High School in an effort to raise money for Running Home 4 Teens, a nonprofit organization he founded to prevent suicide.
Schmitz has taken a semester off from school to promote his cause by traveling around the country, visiting more than 150 radio shows in 15 states. He also has found time to train in hotel gyms.
Schmitz has already surpassed his goal of raising $50,000, and he now expects to hit around $75,000.

dieter is a quality individual...he seems very into his humanitarian type work - good for him!!! maybe it will rub off on a few of the other laguna kids :)

Dieter seems like a good friend and a good person. I wish Jessica would stop trying to get w/ every guy in Laguna. SHe is such a low self esteem having airhead.
Jessica is so pretty to me & Dieter seems like the only one who's not into the Hollywood thing chasing his 15 min. of fame. This is the type of guy Jessica should go after...plus Dieter is crazy about her. She should quit chasing beer guzzling, scruffy faced Jason who's only line on the show seemed to be "you look really cute!" to LC. I got so tired of hearing him say that..it's like "ok...enough already!"

Anyone hear how Dieter did in his run/bike effort Sunday? Was the weather really as crappy there as in Northern California? Anyone attend the party afterward?
