There were not many people volunteering to take over this site the last time so we will see how it will be this time around. Not only have some of you been rude to me but Michelle and Cake as well. I didn't claimed to be perfect but I tried.Scans were low quality because I was rushing to the first scanner I could find since I was not at home because of the family emergency. It now sickens me to know that I rushed and did that for all of this. So until someone else takes over I guess this is it.

Shanta, I really liked what you did with this site. It is well organized, easy to read, and I think it is cool that you have cast pictures from each season in the heading/title section. It is too bad that you are stepping down, but if I was in your situation, I would feel discouraged too.

you probably gave up on reading the comments but speaking on behalf of the people who are disappointed in the site, here's some insight as to why.
First off, as someone mentioned above, your first post was all in caps hyping up things to come for the site. That post was followed by 2 consecutive defensive posts on your behalf. People come to this site for LAGUNA news. not your excuses. you should have been more proactive about your promises rather than making empty ones.
Secondly, the scans as you admit, are of poor quality. we're not being shallow or immature but the previous site owners made the site fun to navigate. Simply put, scans of good quality are more appealing! I'm sure you would agree.
Moreover, your last entry on the 28th was a mere copy and paste. How much effort and time does that take?
In regards to your family emergency, you've gotten a lot of support and pity from other people who frequent this site. Family emergencies happen--and it's unfortunate. But the site was doing poorly before your emergency occured, I'm sorry to say.
I'm not bashing your character, or who you are as a person. But just like political figures, when you become overwhelmed and can no longer do a good job, you need to be fair and let someone else who is capable and deserving of taking the reigns.(i have a busy life, so no, i'm not volunteering to do this)

Okay, first of all, what most of the negative commenters failed to realize is that this is not a paying job. Shanta is a college student who is doing this in her spare time to update all of us on what is going on in the lives of the LB'ers. She did a great job. I know many people that wouldnt have tried this hard for a paying job, yet alone doing so well at something out of the kindnest of their hearts. I know getting all those scans isnt cheap, magazines cost money, college kids dont have a lot of money. Thank you for doing a wonderful job while you ran this site. Ok Shanta to be honest:
it's a bit weak that you're just gonna stop because of the negative comments. Soon or later you'll also get comments on your other jobs. You can't avoid negativity by just calling it quits.
Furthermore I think you have done an awesome job to scan in all those interviews and articles, keeping us up to date and I thank you for giving your spare time to update this website.

you probably gave up on reading the comments but speaking on behalf of the people who are disappointed in the site, here's some insight as to why.
First off, as someone mentioned above, your first post was all in caps hyping up things to come for the site. That post was followed by 2 consecutive defensive posts on your behalf. People come to this site for LAGUNA news. not your excuses. you should have been more proactive about your promises rather than making empty ones.
Secondly, the scans as you admit, are of poor quality. we're not being shallow or immature but the previous site owners made the site fun to navigate. Simply put, scans of good quality are more appealing! I'm sure you would agree.
Moreover, your last entry on the 28th was a mere copy and paste. How much effort and time does that take?
In regards to your family emergency, you've gotten a lot of support and pity from other people who frequent this site. Family emergencies happen--and it's unfortunate. But the site was doing poorly before your emergency occured, I'm sorry to say.
I'm not bashing your character, or who you are as a person. But just like political figures, when you become overwhelmed and can no longer do a good job, you need to be fair and let someone else who is capable and deserving of taking the reigns.(i have a busy life, so no, i'm not volunteering to do this)
Some of us are grateful for your work, and others are not. That's just how life is--you can't cry and whine when people aren't appreciative. You took on this position and did not live up to your responsibilities. Please take responsibility for that and stop playing the victim.

This site was organized and laid out well with perfectly timed updates. Lately, however, it has been going downhill. I know what it's like to have and maintain a website... it does require a lot of time. So anyone who does NOT have that time shouldn't take over this site. If you have excuses like school or work... DON"T take over this site. Don't be surprised when people start complaining. Visiting this site, you can see that others want information and they want it asap. If you can't live up to that, don't even bother trying to run the site! Hopefully the next person will have the time to dedicate to this site and the fans.

Okay, first of all, what most of the negative commenters failed to realize is that this is not a paying job. Shanta is a college student who is doing this in her spare time to update all of us on what is going on in the lives of the LB'ers. She did a great job. I know many people that wouldnt have tried this hard for a paying job, yet alone doing so well at something out of the kindnest of their hearts. I know getting all those scans isnt cheap, magazines cost money, college kids dont have a lot of money. Thank you for doing a wonderful job while you ran this site. I hope to see this site go, not because I don't think that it's a fantastic way to get information, but because all the negativity that consumes this site, no one should have to be subject to those kind of rude remarks, I commend Shanta for stepping down gracefully, and wish you luck in all your future adventures. I personally have my own site and a blog and some groups and it's a lot of work but I manage to do it fine with the help of some very nice people.
