Aaaaaahhh! What has the world come to when there is a red carpet event for this show that has no moral values and is corrupting the subconcious of America's youth. MTV has got to stop.
And Lauren has got to stop. People say she really cares about a future in fashion... all she cares about is the LA scene. If anyone watched the VH1 news documentary: Young, Rich and Out of Control, there was so much footage of her doing underaging clubbing and mingling with the wrong people. I honestly thought they would show Kristin. But it was Lauren they showed so much of. She and her friends care so much about climbing the social ladder in the LA scene. LA is just vapid pit of toxic waste. NO ONE in the fashionista community would pass up a chance to work in Paris for a summer--that's something you just don't pass up. EVERYONE knows that! It's the no. 1 rule of working in fashion. GO TO PARIS! People can defend Lauren all they want. But every fashion student knows their career is set when they find themselves in Paris. She passed it up for LA, basically, this horrible city of sin, and drugs and recyclable men with ignorance of STDS.
It's just so sad. It makes me so angry that people look up to Lauren. I understand watching this show for entertainment, because it is entertaining. But Lauren has been called a role model--her cover on Teen Vogue was staged as publicity to depict her as a girl with her head on straight that has career goals. I think the editors at Teen Vogue are "selling an image." Especially because Lauren is just a reality TV star. Maybe she's in fashion school. Maybe she has an internship. Then half the college population of America should deserve to be on the cover of Teen Vogue because while they are doing internships, they are not turning down huge career opportunities to hang out with a bunch of cokeheads.
It just saddens me that people buy into the Lauren Conrad act, because I want the best for my generation. We're the future policy makers and leaders of our planet, and all we're exposed to right now are these rich LA brats, their vapid reality shows, and their pretentious and ridiculous adventures of dating eachother's exes and secretly doing coke. There is nothing respectable on TV anymore.
I just think the whole young Hollywood world--the underage drinking, clubbing, using drugs, stealing everyone's boyfriends as if there aren't more than 2 billion other men on this planet is just disgusting, and the Hills, glorifies this horrible Sin City.

Anyway, I'll try to say something relative to this unecessary red carpet event... Whitney--she seems like the smartest girl of the bunch--in an actual school. Takes her internship seriously, furthers her career. The dumbest thing she ever did was sign the release form to be a part of this show, but I guess she couldn't really avoid that since she earned her intership the same time it was handed to Lauren. Nevertheless, Whitney is intelligent. She's so tall. She's a gazelle--very elegant model-like in her figure. I hope good things come to her.
No I loveben, you are starting this into another kristin/lauren war. My commentary was completely about Lauren. You obviously are offended so you have to compare her antics with Kristin's, that which I did not do. Yes, I mentioned Kristin. I said I was surprised the documentary didnt show more of Kristin because I thought she cared more about the LA scene. If anything that is saying Kristin should have been in the documentary more, not saying Kristin is a saint and Lauren is a sinner. So learn how to read. Tell me something I did not already state. You want this to be about Kristin vs. Lauren which is sad. You can not accept that this is about Lauren, and her show targeted to young teenagers that glorifies vice in LA. If you want to make this about Kristin vs. Lauren, even though Kristin has nothing to do with the Hills, and how *The Hills* glorifies LA, go ahead. But know it was you who made a post comparing Kristin to Lauren, misused my one mention of Kristin, and made this about Lauren vs. Kristin, and then pretended I took it there. You're a coward
Gweneviere - oh shut up, its so sad that it makes people feel better about themselves to put down Lauren, its pathetic. Lauren never said she was a saint or a role model. She's a REALITY STAR and she can go out to clubs and do whatever she wants. I started going to clubs and drinking when i was 16 and that did not affect me in a negative way. I still got straight A's, went to one of the best universities, and have a great job. She’s only 20 and she doesn’t need to be worrying about starting her career in fashion so soon, she has plenty of time to go to Paris. I'm sorry, but putting down Lauren for going to a club and drinking when she is 20 is ridiculous and naive... you either 1) have no social life or 2) are 14 - wait till you're at least 20 and THEN talk.
Don't watch the show if you hate this life style... why would you come to a laguna fan site??? If you are so against drinking underage then you should know that all of the Laguna characters drank (and they drank on the show all the time), many of them did drugs, and all of them went clubbing (while they were STILL in hs). SO if you are going to put down Lauren for going "clubbing and drinking" then you shouldn't be a Laguna fan either.
