Friday, February 09, 2007 || A Lauren article and an idea.
Hey here is a small article from thehollywoodgossip.com.
Don't get us wrong, we love Kristin Cavallari. The former Laguna Beach alpha girl is sassy and funny, not to mention hot as hell.
But there's just something about Kristin's Laguna rival, Lauren Conrad, that's more down to earth. Wholesome. Innocent. She's America's sweetheart, the girl from the multi-million dollar oceanfront mansion next door.
The star of MTV's The Hills explains in the new issue of Cosmo Girl that she's always been more reserved and conservative than her peers.
"Sometimes I look at what really young girls wear and I can't believe it - I have underwear that covers more than what some of them have on!"
Unlike the many Paris Hilton clones begging for publicity by flaunting their sexuality, Lauren wants her fans to know that classy is sexy, too.
"I think it's important that girls know that they can be attractive and sexy in a classy way and that guys actually like that more than when they see girls who show a lot of skin," LC said.
Of course, it helps that the possible girlfriend of Brody Jenner and definite BFF of Heidi Montag is an unabashed clothes-a-holic.
"For me," Lauren says. "I like clothes and I like to wear them to cover up."
You go, Lauren. You go.
I also had an idea, what do you guys think of adding a gallery to the site? I thought since some of you might make graphics, it would be nice for you to be able to come and see the news and get more pictures for whatever you need. What do you think?

I agree that if you dress sexy doesn't mean that you aren't classy, but there is a thin line between sexy and skanky and even if you have a lot of class and respect for yourself, others might perceive you as "low-class" if you cross that line and dress skanky
"wearing sexy clothes is not mutually exclusive to being classy."
depends on how "sexy" you're talking, but it certainly can be mutually exclusive at a certain point.
I would say dressing modestly doesn't necessarily make you classy, but dressing like a slutbag definitely makes you not classy.
I'm sure she's a great person, but "classy" is not the same as "kind", "generous", "compassionate", etc. and it's not some end-all, be-all character trait that everyone needs to aspire to. as someone above posted, it's defined as "of high class, rank, or grade; stylish; admirably smart; elegant." that description clearly includes both your behavior and how you present yourself.
anyway, my point is that you can't change the definition of "classy" to make it fit whoever you want.
(the "she" in my post above was referring to kristinrules' friend)
Lauren is a class act. People that know the meaning of the word know that she is, but obviously people that hate her will always disagree, there is no point in arguing with them they are just people here to start fights. Just ignore them! If you cared as much about Kristin as you do about "Lauren's show" maybe her show would still be on. If you waste your time thinking/talking about someone you don't even like, that's sad.
^ I could list every classy thing about her, but honestly, I know it's just going to turn into an argument. I think Lauren is classy, you don't. I guess we are going to have to agree to disagree. :)

class·y
ADJECTIVE:
Informal class·i·er , class·i·est
"Highly stylish; elegant."
That is the official dictionary definition for those that didn't know. Source: education.yahoo.com/reference/dictionary/entry/classy
You might not like Lauren, but according to the official definition, she would be considered classy.
so she's honest. that doesn't make her classy.
look, they're all just personality traits, and they aren't equally important to everyone. I think it's safe to say that lauren is classier than kristin, just like it's pretty evident that kristin is more outgoing than lauren. which girl you prefer probably coincides with which traits you think are more desirable.
well, I think it's relative.
lauren is classy for an mtv reality star... which, granted, isn't saying a whole lot.
Lauren & Stephen were good friends and yeah she liked him, but she never hung out with him just to piss Kristin off. Maybe you guys didn't actually watch the same show I did but I know what I saw: Stephen leading both Kristin and Lauren on. (bringing lauren flowers/candy on valentines and saying he had no valentine, asking her if she thought they would work out, etc etc) He may have said he wasn't interested in Lauren after the show aired but any girl that would get treated the way Stephen treated Lauren would be led to believe that he liked her!
I'm sorry but if you were Lauren, you would have thought that too. I'm sure Lauren hated Kristin, the psycho girl CHASED her in her car after school one day for christs sake, but she didn't act immature and go on tv saying how much she hated Kristin, every single day! I'd hate any girl that cheated on my good guy friend, especially if it was a girl like Kristin. As for the separate rooms thing: I'm not going to argue about it. We know MTV does editing... and from what I saw, Stephen was in a separate room from Lauren except for like 3 seconds of filming... and we all know that could have been edited!
"How is she classier than Taylor? Or Jessica? I think they've all made themselves look like fools."
eh?
I would actually argue that taylor is the classiest of all of them, and I can't imagine how you think she made a fool of herself.
I agree... Taylor was nothing but classy. I can't think of one thing she did to make a fool out of herself.
How is Lauren classier than Jessica? Do you even need to ask this... for one, Lauren doesn't go and hook up with her ex boyfriend continuously (sp?) throughout his next 2 relationships... she also doesn't show up drunk to fashion show benefits. . . or find out that her friend made out with a guy she liked and just shrug it off.
I think Taylor was just pissed off, Talan was telling her he wanted to be with her, and then hooking up with Kristin but never really wanting to be in a relationship with Kristin until months later. And Taylor was right on when she called Kristin a whore in my opinion. Classy people can call other people names if they're justified. LOL.
Maybe you didn't watch Laguna but Kristin brought up her cheating on her boyfriend more than once. And Lauren said in an interview how Kristin chased her car one day after school. Kristin has many insecurity issues. But thats another story. Those aren't "rumors" those are things that people actually admitted to/shown on tv. I also think its silly of you to call Lauren a slut when all she did was hang out with brody lol.
I don't recall taylor begging talan to do anything. she pretty much expressed her disgust and was done with him.
and regarding jessica, I'd like to point to this one quote, which I think sums up her personality pretty well:
"what do you mean, I'm being annoying? how am I annoying, jason? what makes me annoying? how am I annoying? why do you think I'm annoying? what makes me annoying? how am I annoying?"
and so on.
