Friday, March 23, 2007 || Lauren Conrad Stays Friends with (Most) Exes
Lauren "L.C." Conrad has no problem staying friends with her exes – most of them, at least.
"I'm friends with almost everyone I've dated," the Hills star, 21, told PEOPLE at a party for the Lisa Kline Beverly Hills boutique. "I mean, you liked them in the beginning, [so] as long as they didn't do anything ..."
Like, say, get sentenced to two months in jail for the battery of two men like her ex, Laguna Beach bad boy Jason Wahler?
"Well Jason's a different story," Conrad said. "I tried. I do talk to him every once in awhile, just to check in on him. I think he's doing a little better. He's got a lot of demons to work out, but he's a good person. He'll figure it out eventually." (The pair split in August.)
But with Brody Jenner, whom she dated briefly last year and who hooked up with Conrad's pal Jen behind her back on a recent episode of The Hills, Conrad insists there is no weirdness. "No, we're friends," she said. "We all just went to Cabo!"
So no hard feelings over a recent article in Details in which Jenner and his pal Spencer Pratt made some unflattering remarks?
"Honestly, I was nauseous reading it," Conrad said. "I do feel a little bad because if you read almost every quote, it's Spencer. He's a better person without Spencer."
The currently single Conrad, who says she's "dating a lot," might be friendly with her exes, but does she still have a good relationship with her Hills roommate Heidi Montag? "Yeah, yeah," Conrad said.
Even though Montag is often shown ditching Conrad for her boyfriend, Pratt, and actually pushed Jenner to make out with Jen? "I mean, these are all things I didn't know," Conrad said. "You have to understand when you watch things, this is our first time seeing it, but it happened months and months ago."

I wondered about that... because heidi obviously pushed jen to hook up with brody, and there's no way for lauren to have known that before she saw the episode. so I'm guessing she's a little peeved.
well, when you're not in a relationship with someone, or even really dating them, you can't expect them to be faithful, so the word "betrayal" hardly applies. I don't like brody at all, but the fact is, he didn't owe lauren anything. and while hooking up with one of her friends is certainly shady, it doesn't seem to me like she wants anything from him besides flirtation and friendship at this point. so there's really nothing to be gained by her going all crazy-jealous-chick on him, if she's not interested in a relationship anyway.
I think the problem with jen is, she has a history of pulling this sort of crap... between hooking up with jason, whatever she did to come between lauren and lo, and now this... well, that's three strikes. if you continuously disregard your friends' feelings to get attention from guys, eventually they're going to tell you to screw off.
Parse, Brody didn't tell a few magazines that he was using her for publicity.He had an interview with ONE magazine and what SPENCER said was really messed up. But really, Brody didn't actually say anything wrong. SPENCER was the one who said he made it is mission to date every girl on the hills NOT Brody. And SPENCER was the one who said the thing about Nicole Richie.
And I highly doubt Lauren and Brody are good friends. She obviously isn't going to bash Brody in an interview, she'd come off completely psycho. I'm sure they are on good terms, but I doubt they are dating or close friends. They probably all went to cabo as a PAID appearance. You know how Kristin and Lauren had to go to vacations and clubs together after Laguna bc they were getting PAID.
Lauren didn't say that she was still mad at Jenn either, maybe they are working on their friendship who knows.
well, besides the fact that lauren was initially pretty resistant to dating brody, they were never exclusive or seriously involved or anything like that. it really just seemed like she enjoyed the attention and having a cute guy to flirt with helped her get over jason. I certainly wouldn't say she's "let herself be run over" by him, because she really doesn't seem emotionally attached at all.
and parse, brody has publically complained about he was portrayed in that interview. not that it makes much difference to me, because I still think he's a douche, but he certainly isn't standing behind those comments spencer made.
not to repeat myself, but since they're clearly just friends at this point, and lauren doesn't even seem to be considering a relationship- and actually, it didn't seem like she ever did, whatever happened between them seemed to be more mtv editing than actual romance- I'm not quite sure why you think it's such a big deal? and why you've regressed back to the name-calling?
Why do Lauren haters keep saying she dates every girls leftovers? Every girl has dated leftovers! Kristin has dated leftovers. Heidi has dated leftovers. You have dated leftovers. Chances are you're not going to find a guy that has never had a girlfriend.
And why do you all think Lauren fans worship her? Because they never say anything bad about her? Well you guys NEVER say anything bad about Kristin so you must worship her.
come on, b-red, you know that's not true. lauren has dated other guys- in fact, I think she's said in interviews that she dated a number of guys her senior year who just didn't want to be on tv. and in a town as small as laguna, it's pretty much impossible to avoid dating someone who hasn't already dated someone you know.
I do find it funny that parse thinks anyone who doesn't hate lauren wants to be her and "dreams about her at night". I thought we were trying to be polite and not insult each other? or is maturity just too much of a stretch for you?
Lauren has not only had one boyfriend. She said herself that she had 3 other boyfriends while she was filming for Laguna Beach. Just because we didn't see them doesn't mean they weren't there. She could have even had boyfriends before Laguna Beach.
IMO if Lauren wanted to date Brody, she could. And not because he really likes her but because he would love to be Lauren Conrad's boyfriend and be on her show. That guy loves the attention. The thing with Jenn happened a month after Lauren and Brody ended their fling so its not like Brody cheated on Lauren or chose Jenn over lauren. I HEARD (this isn't fact this is just rumor) that Lauren was the one who ended it with Brody, so it seems like to me that Brody hooked up with Jenn so he could get back on the show. AND apparently Lauren was dating Greg (from 24/7) at the time of Jenn's birthday so I really think that scene where lauren said she was happy that Brody was gonna be there was staged. There is no way Brody ended things with lauren before MTV stopped filming the season.
She said herself that she dated 3 other guys during LB. Why would she lie about that? Just because you didn't see them doesn't mean they weren't there. Some people don't like cameras in their face. We never saw most of the cast member's families. That doesn't mean they don't have any.
sigh... parse, she isn't filmed year-round. even laguna wasn't filmed all year. and if someone refuses to sign a release form to be on camera, they can't legally include them in the show. of course, if you choose to believe that the half hour these people are on your television each week represents the entirety of their existence, and they spend the other 167.5 hours/week sitting at home scratching their butts, go right ahead.
but you must realize that mtv makes whatever story they want out of the footage, and which storyline do you think they'd rather pursue- lauren and random guy no one cares about, or lauren and kind-of-famous d-list celebrity who used to date kristin?
kristinrules, if she were pursuing a relationship with brody, I would agree with about you about the respect issue... but I don't see anything wrong with staying friends with a guy you've hooked up with, and I don't see what kind of "repercussions" she could've dished out without seeming totally irrational and jealous.
I'm actually kind of impressed by how well lauren's stood up for herself versus jen and spencer these last few episodes... she definitely has some doormat tendencies, so it was nice to see her display a little backbone.
PARSE you are pretty naive to think that Lauren's entire life was shown on TV. How can she date guys and not show them on TV? The SAME way her 2 best friends Jill and Nate (who also attended laguna high) were never shown until the hills S2 new years episode.
And second, its funny that you make fun of lauren fans for using caps when you used caps when you called lauren pathetic. Basically everyone here has written a word in caps, including the lauren haters.
sweetie, none of us are making up anything, we're just telling you what she said in an interview. if you think she's lying, fine, but you're definitely starting to cross over from antagonistic to downright hostile.
How many times do I have to tell you? She said herself that she had boyfriends while she was filming Laguna Beach. Nobody is making anything up. Just because they weren't on tv doesn't mean they weren't there. Some people don't like cameras in their face. And since they weren't on tv, they weren't famous. Nobody is going to know their names.

not sure how to make it any clearer for you. dislike her all you want, but at least get your facts straight.

Parse, I am sorry your mommy and daddy don't pay enough attention to you. However, that doesn't mean you need to try and start your little arguments to try and get a rise out of people.
