Monday, November 26, 2007 || Seventeen Magazine - Style Awards
The Dec. / Jan. issue of seventeen magazine features their first Style Awards with some of Hollywood’s hottest female celebrities style icons. Rihanna making the front cover and also gets a featured article.
Included : Hayden Panettiere, Amanda Bynes, Emma Roberts, Jordin Sparks, Lauren Conrad, Vanessa Hudgens, Aly and AJ Michalka, Lil Mama, Jessica Alba, Ashlee Simpson, Fergie, Ashley Olsen, Mary Kate Olsen, Beyonce, Pink, Hilary Duff, and Avril Lavigne.
Not her best pic, but I like the dress it is cute. Most people on the list have style and very different. The Olsens have great style; ashley is more conservative whereas MK is boho. LC and Jessica Alba have similar style: simple, classy with a bit of trendy (although J Alba wears really high end stuff); Fergie and Hayden have great style that is their own. Hillary tries at times. Every one else on this list could use a stylist.
Hilary Duff?! She tries so hard, but she never looks that good. I actually really like that picture of Lauren. The Olsens have good style, Jessica Alba's is quite classic but that's about it. Hayden's is so boring.
^Just because she likes and appreciates 1920's fashion doesn't mean she crawls out of bed everyday wearing the style. You're the dumbass for taking that so literally.
I don't get the hype about Lauren's style/line. She dresses like she just walked out of Forever 21. Granted I like their clothes, but it shows that she's hardly original.
^Actually, a lot of designer's pick up on whatever is on trend at the moment. I think Lauren's line is pretty good, but we've only really seen just a small sample of it. Yeah, she's got some basic pieces but there were also standouts that I haven't seen before. Like the Audrina and the Jillian dresses, I thought they were pretty original and creative. Overall, it's not a bad first effort. Let's see what's she's going to come up with next time.
I was never impressed with her high school/first year on the Hills style, but I do think she’s really come into her own. I don’t think she’s particularly original, but I do think she dresses nicely and I like how she seems to incorporate trends with smaller details or one item as opposed to going all out. May not be risky, but she usually looks pretty good.
That said, I never thought of her style as being related to the 1920s - I always thought it seemed kind of 40s-50s’ish with the headbands and dresses. She reminds me of a modern day Sandra Dee - the “good girl” and a little prim and proper (in comparison with the likes of Paris and Lindsey anyway).
Lauren style is simple, chic and classy. Her line reflects her style thus far. Haters need to get over them selves. I love the dress that she is wearing.
Seriously? Her "clothing line" is straight out of Forever21 and don't even try and deny it. I mean, leggings for $48? She needs to get back down to earth.

Ugh. Gross photo.
I think the list of girls mentioned just shows...pretty much all of them don't have style apart from the Olsens, and a couple of others.
She looks great. I like Lauren's style, the Olsens and Vanessa Anne Hudgens.
She's so freaking pretty! Thanks for posting.
That's a dress from her line right? The rope edging looks familiar

Yeah, because, you know, the corset shape DEFINED the 1920s. Dumbass.
