Wednesday, March 12, 2008 || Brody Disses LC's Clothes!
Amid the big-name designers showing off their wares at L.A. Fashion Week, The Hills star Lauren Conrad made her fashion debut yesterday.
And while it appeared to be all-smiles in the celeb-packed front row of LC's show, with Audrina Patridge, Lo Bosworth, fellow Voguer Whitney Port and frenemie Kristin Cavallari seemingly enjoying what they were seeing, OK! has learned that not everyone was digging on LC's fashions.
In fact, Lauren's on-again-off-again boyfriend Brody Jenner was overheard slamming the designs when he told his pals, "They looked more like maternity clothes than high fashion!"
LOL I must admit there is some truth to his statement...I was just at Target today and Lauren's line is very similar to some of the clothes they have in the maternity and women's section. Omg, that's really funny that he said that cuz I realize now that that's what I was thinking in the back of my mind when watching the show.
She does have a few cute pieces though (even if they are horribly over-priced).
My boyfriend says the same shit to me about babydoll tops and those billowy dresses. That they look like maternity clothes. Haha! I guess it's just a style that boys don't really dig cuz it makes you look fat. (Or if you do have a gut, it's a good way to hide it!)
That is such an unclassy and ungracious thing to say. It's not like Brody is a designer who happened to get front-row seats to someone else's fashion show. He knows next to nothing about women's fashion yet feels the need to publicly diss his "friend's" collection? Jesus.
I really hate to stick up for Brody, but it's not like it was a direct quote from him - he was overheard (by who knows who). This is from OK! and aren't they always coming up with stories that end up being false?
If he did say it loudly enough to be overheard though, than yeah, that's really rude. I kind of find the style of a lot of her clothes unflattering myself (although I think she had some pieces that were cute), but if that was my friend I would never, ever say so somewhere where I could be overheard.
If its true, I do feel really bad for Lauren. Then again, I feel like she's never going to learn that these people are not genuine friends so its kind of her own fault.
