Hills stars and ex-BFFs Heidi Montag, 21, and Lauren Conrad, 22, are taking their catfight to the catwalk, Us Weekly reports in its latest issue, on newsstands now.
Just a month after the launch of Conrad’s clothing line, the Lauren Conrad Collection, Montag is announcing that her own label, Heidiwood, will hit Anchor Blue stores nationwide in April.
And she’s plenty confident her duds — dresses, tops, jeans, bags and jewelry, all priced at less than $60 — have the competitive edge.
"Lauren's line is not necessarily something I would wear," Montag tells Us.
"She's trying a high-fashion thing, but it's a little overpriced," Montag adds. "Mine is fun and flirty for the everyday woman. Most people can't afford $200 for one dress."
Montag also insists she's a more legit fashionista than her former fashion-school classmate.
"When we were in school, I was the designer, and she was in, like, product development," she snipes.
Conrad has yet to publicly critique Montag’s threads, focusing instead on the launch of her collection this week at L.A.'s Fashion Week.
"The theme is Paris," she tells Us. "I designed the whole line after I went there."

LOL why is Heidi always in competition with Lauren? Lauren doesn't care about Heidi or her line. It's no competition. Lauren will always win.

I agree with you all. I would rather spend more money on Lauren's clothes then buy anything from Heidi and support her. Of course Heidi's clothes are cheaper, they look cheap and very plain. And why is Heidi so obsessed with Lauren? She has a comment about everything. Go away Heidi!

It's sad, I hate LC's clothes but the picture above makes LC look like a phenomenal designer, I'm sorry but Heidi's dress looks so cheap.
Why even fight about this? We know that neither one of them actually designed their own line. We've all seen behind the scenes footage of fashion designers at work in their studios and we know that with all the filming, shopping, and clubing that these girls do that neither had time to design a line themeselves.

product development can be in reference to the design aspect of creating a new product and/or the marketing aspect of a new product. I'm guessing Heidi was referring to the marketing aspect.

Have you guys been over the US magazine website?! They FINISHED Heidi. I have never seen a Heidi vs. Lauren post with no one defending Heidi, but this did it. People that love AND hate Lauren's line are all defending her against HeidiWitch. I guess there's only so much jealously she could get away with before people REALLY saw her for the demon she is.

Um don't you need some sort of education on fashion to start your own line? Heidi dropped out of FIDM very early on and said how it wasn't for her. Now all of a sudden she wants to start a fashion line AFTER Lauren has one. That is quite pathetic.

I dont think there is any competition the two styles are completely differnt. The fact that Heidi wants to try and do a comparison is pathetic. If she is really into moving on with her life and going after her dreams or whatever she needs to let Lauren go, Lauren already has; which is why she can even care less about discussing her every second of any interview.
I admit Laurne's clothing line is a bit more pricey but I thing it's about the quality. I think I've already spent too much time on this, Heidi is just really sad.
i love how speidi always complain about how lauren spends her life bashing them, yet THEIR the ones calling us weekly every other day to bash on lauren.
heidi needs to stop doing things that she is not good at just so she can appear better than lauren. Heidis clothes may be less expensive but that zebra print tranny mess SHOULD be less expensive. plus lauren conrad's line is WAY more high fashion and is being sold in high priced sophisticated stores & will soon be in department stores. Heidi's line is partnering up with "anchor blue" which is more like, a 2 for $20 chain store.
and a cheap, plain, amateur line by heidi will never get picked up to do a fashion show, take my word on that.

I think Heidi has realized the only way gossip magazines are ever going to feature her in a story is if she disses Lauren every chance she gets. Let's face it, the only reason anyone cared about her is because of Lauren, and in order to stay relevent and in the spotlight, she has to keep bringing her up. Heidi has a nerve her line is something out of paris hiltons closet and Lauren line is much classier. But overall like it was said here they are both suited for different tastes and mine certainly veers towards laurens classy clothes for sure :).
