I'm not saying it's necessarily because of the "fame", but I do think it's kind of shady to ditch your best friends within a year of high school, especially when you all still live in the same area.

allie, kristin had a different best friend than jessica and alex, and she didn't want to be a part of the show. That's not to say she wasn't close to jessica and alex but i'm sure the fact that all 3 were willing to be taped by mtv definitly played a part in them all hanging out. who knows what the true story is and how close they really all were..
