WHAT WAS IT LIKE SHOOTING THE PREMIERE EPISODE IN PARIS?
It almost made my problems seem very small — L.A. is such a small place compared to the rest of the world. And to be immersed in all this culture — especially at the Crillon Ball with all the couture — was just so inspiring in every way.
WHAT DID YOU LEARN ABOUT YOURSELF BEING SO FAR FROM HOME?
I think when you’re put into a completely different situation and environment, you really see who you are. You’re not affected by what’s around you. You are who you are. I had a lot going on in L.A., so it was nice to be removed from my small L.A. and put into Europe. It was the perfect time.
HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH THE DISCREPANCY BETWEEN WHAT PEOPLE THINK IS GOING ON IN YOUR LIFE BASED ON THE TIMELINE OF WHEN THE HILLS AIRS, AND WHAT IS REALLY HAPPENING NOW?
Sometimes it’s a bit disappointing when you have a big thing happen in your life and it gets reported way before it comes on the show. But at the same time, it can be good, because no matter what people say in the press, they get to see on the show how it really played out and what really happened.
SO THERE'S BEEN A TIME WHEN THE SHOW HAS SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT?
Yes. Once Audrina got in a fight with the guy she was dating and they put it on TMZ. Everyone thought it was one way, but when the show finally aired, everyone saw what really happened.
SO, WHAT’S THE BEST LIFE LESSON YOU’VE LEARNED FROM AN EX-BOYFRIEND?
You should never need a guy to make you feel complete. I think that I fell in love with someone who I thought I needed to be myself. Once we broke up, I was still standing and I realized I was fine without him.
