Wednesday, September 24, 2008 || MTV Gives Whitney Her Own Spinoff
The much-talked-about Hills spinoff featuring Whitney Port has been picked up by MTV, sources confirm to E! News exclusively.
"They will start shooting immediately," says a show source, who confirms the pickup just happened within the last two weeks—though the network has not officially confirmed.
The series, set to begin airing in early 2009, will feature Port's life in New York City, where she is now working for Diane von Furstenberg. (You know, that nice lady from the American Express commercials.)
Looking back, we realize Whitney's role on The Hills could be called superfluous...
While we loved the strange faces she would often rely on in favor of words and the general disinterest in her voice when she was forced to ask Lauren questions about text messages from Heidi, we’re a bit skeptical as to how that will work as an actual show. But it’s not like that will stop us from watching!
We only hope this isn't some sort of sign that MTV is also going to force a Speidi spinoff on us. That we will not stand for.

I hope this does well, too. I for one am ready for a change. I'm thinking this one will be more about fashion and less about Hollywood dumb bimb/douchebag drama.
And yeah, Whitney hasn't really shown much personality, but that didn't stop Lauren from getting her own show. As long as they cast it well, it'll do fine.
i like whitney but i dont think it will do well.she doesnt seem to have fun or any drama and thats not what people want to see.
I like Whitney, she seems like a sweet girl, but I don't think she can carry a show by herself. They are going to have to get some fun friends for her to liven up the show because her alone, just isn't going to do it!

it sounds good, but i dont see it working out. i'm surprised she agreed to do it since she likes keeping her life more personal. because she was friends with everyone they may try to bring those from the hills on gues appearances or something. i cant say i'm real excited or anything but good for her
^one more thing i forgot to add seems like MTV might be trying to hard with spinoffs, they dont know what to do now that the hills is coming to an end.
I don't know...I remember everyone saying the same thing about Lauren being able to carry her own show as she was considered quite bland and look what happened.
If anything, I think Whitney is a bit more relatable. Personally, she seems less silly than the other girls and I think people may relate more to her insecurities with her career.
Although part of the fun of the Hills is how silly it is. Well who knows. But I'll still probably watch it as long as its not like an hour long show.

So lauren had her own show and MTV plans to give audrina a spin off(tmz has been reporting this) and give whitney a spinoff. Brody has his own show bromance who is next? Heidi and spencer oh lawd please no! This is getting ridiculous!
