Thursday, December 11, 2008 || Lauren Wanted to Make Sure Heidi Was "OK"
Even Lauren Conrad was concerned when ex-BFF Heidi Montag eloped with Spencer Pratt in Mexico last month.
"Lauren actually called me right when she found out, which was the same day I found out," Holly Montag told Usmagazine.com Tuesday at the Ubisoft Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party Video Game launch in West Hollywood. "She was just checking on everybody and making sure the family was OK."
Holly said she doesn't know what Conrad thought of the surprise nuptials.
"She has not said anything to me about it," Holly said. "She just wants to make sure Heidi is OK."
Holly, who spent the past weekend with Heidi and their mom, Darlene Egelhoff, also told Us that Heidi apologized for waiting so long to tell them she got married.
"I think she felt bad that she didn't tell us right away, and we had to find out through other sources," Holly said. "But it was her choice, and we are all really supportive of whatever she decides to do."
Holly added that her mom and Spencer have been communicating.
"They have been talking," she said. "That's not really my business, but of course, now that we are family, we are going to figure it all out."
She said Heidi and Spencer have been talking about having a big wedding ceremony soon.
Holly said she would "absolutely" help her plan it.
"It's something I looked forward to my whole life," she told Us, "being the maid of honor, getting to throw the parties."

I'm kind of glad they're not friends anymore. Heidi's too selfish, she doesn't deserve to have someone like Lauren in her life.
This, to me, just shows what a big heart Lauren has, that she still wants to make sure Heidi and her family are okay, even after all the horrible things Speidi has done to her.
I don’t know…although we all hate Heidi and Spencer, it is supposed to be a happy time for them, not one of concern. Asking if Heidi is okay is condescending to Heidi and Spencer’s relationship, no matter how ludicrous it may be. All I know is that if I was in Heidi’s position and had eloped with someone that my ex-friend did not like, I’d rather have them mind their own damn business than show concern.
Not that I think Lauren had malicious intent, I just don’t think it was appropriate.
That said, this show needs to end so these people can stop with stupid frenemies drama. Lauren and Heidi were friends for like 2 years…they act like they were soul mates and meant to be together forever. I blame the show for that – normally I think they would have moved on with their lives instead of being in mourning all the time.
I don't think Lauren and Heidi will ever be friends again but is't nothing wrong with making sure someone is ok.
^I think the point is that she just got married - of course she's okay! Why wouldn't she be? I mean, I wouldn't be happy if I married Spencer, but obviously she loves him enough for whatever reason.
I understand checking if the family is okay since they were upset that she eloped, but I know if I eloped and someone's response was "are you okay?", I'd be rather offended. I think Whitney and Audrina did the right thing by congratulating them - even if you think its the most ridiculous idea ever, what's done is done so really its the only appropriate thing to do. You show concern when someone gets cancer or goes through a divorce or something...not when someone gets married.
