Wednesday, April 15, 2009 || Audrina: People Will Still Watch The Hills Without Lauren
The Hills will still be alive in fans' eyes -- even without its lead star Lauren Conrad.
Asked if people will still tune into the MTV show after the fifth season when Conrad leaves, Audrina Patridge tells Usmagazine.com, "Yes, we're like family to our audience."
Patridge -- who says she is lining up a lot of work -- adds that even she isn't sure how long she'll be on the show.
"I completed [the comedy] Sorority Row, which is coming out in October," she tells Us. "I've been reading other scripts -- one that I am really in love with. I've been shopping around a show with [Survivor creator] Mark Burnett with different networks, so I should have announcement soon."
On Tuesday, Patridge attended the premiere of her straight-to-DVD flick, Into the Blue 2.
She says her role "actually reminded me of my relationship with Justin [Bobby] when I sorted it all out."
"I played a girlfriend of this guy ... it was funny," she tells Us. "She is very feisty, and she always catches her boyfriend in the wrong, and he's a cocky guy. It was a great movie."

i barely watching this season, i doubt i watch once lauren is gone..
I won't be. Almost every single comment I've read on every web page has said people are done with the show once Lauren leaves.
It's HER show. Everyone else on it sucks.

i love Audrina and will totally be watching her show and from what i've been reading a lot of others will be too.
The Hills is done for me once Lauren is gone. I barely can watch this season. Audrina show will be a fail.
I'll stop watching after Lauren leaves. Speidi is so fake. I have no interest in watching their fake storylines.

The show's practically on life support as it is. I couldn't even sit through a rerun the other day when I just wanted to watch a little tv and nothing else was on. I'm not sure if I could watch it regardless of whether Lauren was on. I don't think its been good since "What did I do?" "You know what you did!" I thought it might get good with the Lo-Audrina tension because that seemed real to me, but now that's over.
This show is just bad now. If they're going to make it scripted drama, the least they could do is make it good. All they do is recycle the same old stupid shit - Speidi break up and make up, Lauren's betrayed by someone she keeps trusting like a total moron, Audrina tries to stir up shit, and Lo tries way too hard to be cute. The worst part is that you can't help knowing that everything is fake because half the time it doesn't even make sense (e.g. Lauren chasing Heidi around at her party even though she didn't want to be friends).
I don't even particularly like Lauren, but at least she seems like the most real thing on this show. I'm glad she's finally quitting, because she seems too good for this stuff, regardless of whether she fades into oblivion or not (fame isn't everything IMO).

The Hills has been dead to me since the end of season 3, with Lauren being handed a chance to go to Paris on a platter. And as much as we all stood up for the show at the time, Gavin's revelation that a lot of it was fake was just the nail in the coffin. They don't even try to hide the fake situations anymore.
i think audrina fans will continue to watch it and people who love speidi drama will watch it but the majority of the audience hates speidi and doesn't care about audrina and her boring justin bobby. I always prefered lauren and whitney cause to me they're the classiest people on the show. So now that whitney has left and that lauren is leaving it will definitely loose a big audience. I mean what was also cool about the show was the fashion part with withney and lauren episodes in paris and stuff, if there's no more fashion and cool girls like them then the show isn't fun... cause even if audrina is nice she's not really chic or smart and doesn't have a good personality. Concerning Heidi she's such a barbie maybe little girls will watch the show cause they love barbies haha but generally the audience will definitely be as classy and as pleasant as those characters sooo... it will probably last a season 6 and then go away.
I like how Audrina says they're like family to the audience - that's a bit much, no? Bitch, no one cares that deeply about you and your little posse, regardless of whether Lauren is included in that or not. I mean, I read updates on the people and watch the show, but it's not that serious. They're honestly all to stupid for me to relate to - I just like to watch it to make fun of it and check out their clothing. Its hard to even comment on the drama anymore because its all just too fake.
i'll watch as long as audrina is on it and then i'll check out her new show when she leaves. but would i stick around to watch the speidi & lo show? hell to the no.
