Wednesday, May 23, 2007 || Heidi and Spencer are engaged!
Usmagazine.com has learned exclusively that Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are engaged! Pratt, 23, popped the question to Montag, 20, Tuesday night at the Bacara Resort & Spa in Santa Barbara, says a source who adds: "She said 'yes.' She's over the moon!"
The Hills stars, whose controversial courtship was chronicled last season on the hit MTV reality series, have been dating for just eight months.
Pratt purchased the diamond-encrusted platinum band with a pink stone on Monday at Ice at Brentwood Gardens before presenting Montag with his bended-knee proposal, according to a source. An eyewitness at the store tells Us, "She was trying on tons of them and they looked really happy!"
Montag was formerly a close friend and roommate of her Hills co-star Lauren Conrad, 21, until Pratt earlier this year urged Montag to move out of Conrad's apartment and in with him. The couple has not yet set a wedding date.
A rep for MTV couldn't be reached for comment.

Ugh what's really sad is that I bet Spencer did this as a pathetic PR stunt. Heidi has gotten so much crap for dating Spencer, so now he's trying to act like the world's nicest guy so people will start approving of him and her. I just threw up a little bit in my mouth.

Now that they are engaged I guess they're going to try and spring for there own show similar to Jessica/Nick's Newlyweds. barf

How can you people hate two people that you don't even know this much? Disliking them is one thing but hoping that they get divorced is just taking it too far. I think it's really exciting! It's awesome that two people that young found true love and found what people way older than them are still looking for! I can't wait to see her ring, it sounds gorgeous! Good for them and congratulations!!

hoolababy, you have issues. See a therapist. I'm happy for these two. If they are ready to make that commitment than they should. It's pathetic that some of you are wishing them ill will because Heidi stopped her friendship with Lauren. From what we know, Spencer never cheated on Heidi. I think sometimes people just long for him to be far worse than he is in order to continue hating on them. He's obviously very crazy about her now and has committed to a great level. I suppose she may have changed him, there's nothing wrong with changing for the woman you love. Men have done it for centuries.

Sasha, no one is hating on Heidi simply because she's not friends with Lauren anymore. If they had simply grown apart (as friends sometimes do ) they'd be no problem but, that wasn't the case here. Heidi did a ton of shady stuff including backstabbing Lauren. I was never a Heidi fan to begin with but between all the shadiness and these ridiculous staged photo ops every week I'm beyond sick of the girl. Besides, aren't her 15 minutes up already?

sasha, I'm afraid you're probably going to learn this the hard way, but men don't change for women... and if you think a guy is changing for you, it's probably a combination of pretense on his part and denial on yours.
Sasha, you're right. Don't listen to all the haters. Spencer had never met a girl that he actually liked before he met Heidi, of course he's going to act differently around her. They are obviously very happy and in love. Wishing them ill will is not going to do anything for any of you so why don't you just get over whatever issues it is that you have with them and move on? I can't wait to see them on S3, they are going to steal the show just like they did on S2!!!

The funny thing is that no one has to wish any ill will on them. They're going to manage to do that on their own. Spencer and Heidi don't need any of our help on that. These two are a trajedy waiting to happen. And I will say "i told you so" when it does. :)
