I’ve seen the trailer for the third season of The Hills. Clearly, you’ll be appearing on the show, despite your strained relationship with [star] Lauren [Conrad]. But the fans still want to know if there will be two separate storylines—one yours and one hers.
Spencer Pratt: We have nothing to do with the editing. It’s a surprise for us as much as the audience.
Heidi Montag: More for us.
There’s a lot of debate about whether or not the show is scripted.
H.M.: There are storylines…
S.P.: There are story editors. It’s that simple. Look in the credits—there are story editors.
Are you frustrated with the way you’ve been depicted?
H.M.: It’s a 22-minute show about seven people. It doesn’t really capture the essence of who you are. It’s not like reality TV is the place to portray yourself.
S.P.: Especially when Lauren, your supposed nemesis, is the narrator, and it’s her show. It’s a very difficult situation. But I wasn’t surprised, because once you go against L.C., the star of the show, you’re bound not to [come off] looking good, because she’s their honeybee. You have no chance. Thing is, I wasn’t Heidi’s boyfriend when they put that boyfriend connotation on my name. I was very single, she was single. They just didn’t show her going out on her dates.
When you see yourself portrayed in a negative way, do you take it with a grain of salt?
H.M.: Yeah, you can’t take it too seriously. It’s the entertainment business. We’re here to entertain people, and we get that.
You were in a fashion show over the weekend and are planning on getting into the Industry. Will that play a role in this Hills season?
H.M.: No, The Hills doesn’t follow any of that. We have our own lives, and then they film whatever.
Anything you can tease to in general?
S.P.: Heidi’s music career…
H.M.: Yeah, my music is pretty much it.
S.P.: We’re working with David Foster on a pop album.
There have been rumors of a Newlyweds spinoff show. Are you interested in making one?
S.P.: We like to keep all of our options open.
H.M.: We’re just trying to explore.
Is MTV talking to you at all?
H.M.: No...no comment really.

Spencer definately sounds a little bitter. He truly dislikes Lauren, Heidi seemed cool she kind of just brushed everything off. After all the story line is depicted by their real actions but we still need to remember a lot of editing does happen so the story goes the way they want.
This is just ridiculous. This is why I think we should not have to read about these two ingrats particularly spencer.
Heidi would have been some stipper if it was not for LC and Spencer another nobody in Hollywood land. Because of Heidi's friendship with LC she was cast on the hills and now she cannot even show her any appreciation! What a BITCH!!
I hope there is no season 4, so they can both fade into oblivion. LOSERS!!!
I agree. Heidi ruins herself by being with him. He makes her alienate everyone in her life. However, she's a big girl so I do think she chooses to stay in this terrible relationship. I couldn't imagine being with someone that tells you who you can and can't keep in your life.
Does anybody else notice how Spencer does most of the talking? Controlling...maybe?

They are both two idiots that are fame whores. I mean really, if it is her show and you don't like her or how you are portrayed, don't appear on it. Lauren is not friends with Heidi anymore, she just needs to go away.
i hope this means they aren't filming very much of these two. But, if Heidi really is pursuing a musical career and doing fashion shows doesn't it seem a bit strange that MTV wouldn't be covering it if she's is still a big part of the Hills???
on another note, i have to admit i started rewatching season 1 and while i still have a love/hate relationship with the girl she was great (unintentional) comic relief. I really wish she would grow a spine and ditch Spencer!
Heidi needs to go away. She's fugly and her douchbag of a boyfriend is fuglier.
i've lost so much respect for heidi. i know the show twists the storylines however they want, but it doesn't change how heidi treats people. and how spencer treats blindly in love heidi.
No one is forcing these fugs to be on the Hills. If spencer does not like how he is portrayed he should not agree to be filmed.
