You'd think a dream internship at Teen Vogue, getting VIP treatment all over Hollywood and having your own show on MTV would make most girls happy -- not so Lauren Conrad of "The Hills." Need any brie with that whine?The pouty F-lister dined at Da Silvano in New York City with new boss and co-star Whitney Port, along with two young bucks, some Vanity Fair editors ... and an entire MTV crew. On-camera, LC's all big eyes and smiles, but a TMZ spy at Da Silvano last night said that once the cameras stopped rolling, L.C. was angst ridden, complaining about having to work "five days a week." Who does that?
Did someone forget to tell Lauren that her life -- swank dinners, bitchfighting, shopping, blah blah blah -- is her work?

That's from TMZ, who seem to go out of their way to complain about Lauren after she and Audrina refused to stop and talk to TMZ's cameramen while they were filming for The Hills.
TMZ is bullshit - they actually promote celebrities like Kimberley Stewart because McDonald's gives them money. Not only is there a Kim-McD's ad, but all articles about her are positive after the McDonald's deal as part of the contract.
Is that suppose to be something bad? I love my job.. but I bitch about it all the time. ANYONE who's EVER had a job will at least bitch about their job once in their life.

I don't trust TMZ. TMZ only likes people who are absolute famewhores because the more someone LOVES the attention and hams it up for their cameras, the more money they get. Lauren has never been the type to do that with papparazis. If anything, she tries to avoid them and I can see why they would get mad at her. Who cares! Papparazis are stupid and are scumbags. Everyone knows that.

I love LC; she's been my favorite since laguna beach 1 but she is being overexposed at this moment. I know she is doing hills promotion and her upcoming clothing line, but it has been too much. she needs to take a break from the limelight.

I don't think she is overexposed, but I think it's getting to that point. I feel like the show will take the Simple life route, where the stars become so huge that you don't want to watch them on TV anymore because. TH S1 was refreshing because we didn't know what to expect, now the show is predictable because the stuff they show is not new because we've already read or heard about it before it even airs.
I agree with the tabloid part. She is in every freaking tabby every week. He picturs taken at NYC is all over the net. It will get to a point where people will become sick and tired of seeing her. She should chill after her clothing line comes out.

I really don't get why people would call this girl a famewhore? She's said over and over again, she doesn't care about fame. She doesn't want to be in tabloids and the cameras could all go away. All she wants is to have a career in fashion and if a TV show is going to get her there, then I give her snaps for that.
^ Listen to yourself. She has been on reality tv for how many years now? She loves it, and it's funny the show is more about her drama and personal life than her so called career.
^It's no secret why she's doing the show. Don't u get it? She's using it to boost a career in fashion. It's a built in marketing tool to get her name out there and it's obviously working regardless of the drama. And its Heidi and Spencer that are bringing it on because they're starved for attention. Like she said herself, all this drama isn't going to matter anyway. At the end of the day no one really cares. The main thing is that she's got a deal with Mark cosmetics and she's got a fashion line and handbag line coming out. She knows nothing lasts in Hollywood and the Hills is only a temporary side gig. Actually Lauren has an amazing internship, and she still attends school unlike other "famewhores" on the show. I think she's been so successful in other areas of her life that she doesn't care about acting or singing because she's clearly prepared herself for the possibility of not being on tv. I think out of all of the Laguna stars, Lauren became the biggest yet she remains the most down to earth and doesn't let fame get to her head.

Lauren, I agree with you 100%. Just take every person that came out of Laguna Beach fame. Stephen, Talan, and Kristin all ditched school to pursue acting. If Lauren wanted to be an actress, she would've done the same. She's smart, that she has backup.
I don't think Lauren is on the show because she wants to be famous, but if it gets her to a point where her name gets famous to help publicize her fashion lines. Then more power to her. She's not doing anything different from designers buying ads and publicity for their products. She's only trying to secure a future in fashion and what better way to do that than to benefit from the early media attention she's getting right now. You would be an idiot not to do the same. So she's not a famewhore so to speak, but more business woman. And there's totally nothing wrong with that.
