Chrissy's parents are the most annoying parents alive. I feel bad for her. They should just let her live her life. They treat her like she's five. Seriously, chill out!!
I think this show is better than LB3 it seems more real and Clay is hott and Chrissy also has like a unique voice but Samantha's is annoying it's so sweet and young. I respect allie for not hanging out with Chase.
Was anyone else surprised by Allie's classiness about the mini golf thing? I was. Although she was totally jealous at the party, she didn't go over and try to hook up with him or anything.
Chrissy parents are creepy - her mom is talking about how cute the high school boys are, and like Nikki said, her dad is acting like a jealous boyfriend. Weirdo.
I feel a little sorry for Chrissy that Clay was trying to make her jealous, but she needs to tell her dad to bug off. Or just say, Look, I will call you at certain times, but I will not carry my phone around with me so you can call constantly and make me look like a freak in front of my friends.
samantha is not a good friend, she is low. because she wanted to hook up with chase. sascha looks so cute! i think she looks better then the rest of the cast.
and don't you guys think chase looks like an actor? i can't come up who.. anyone?
I think Allie must really like chase to not want to hang out with him alone while he is dating taylor. Does Taylor really think he's faithful? I really like clay. I can't believe chrissy would hook up with chase! Yeah you could tell Samantha wanted to hook up with chase. Anyway, I think I'm starting to like Clay and Allie the best!
I like the show so far. Chrissy's voice is kind of annoying though. It sounds like a female kermit the frog. I think Chrissy is adorable but she and her father need to quit. That is just weird. Clay is not going to put up with that for long.
I think Sasha is really pretty and I wish they would show more of her. However, most all of these girls need to reduce the bleach in their hair. Geez! I'm a highlighted blonde as well, but they look like mini playboy playmates. Not cute at all.
Chrissy has a really annoying voice, especially when she says "Daddy" repeatedly.. Chase isn't a pimp, he needs to get over that. Allie needs to get over Chase.
Chrissy needs to stop answering the phone. Leave the phone in the car. Her dad is really creepy. Clay won't put up with that, it's weird. GROW UP CHRISSY
umm, I very much doubt she has the option of not answering her phone when her parents call. telling her to "grow up" is ridiculous, she's a minor living in their house, so she has to live by their rules.
anyway, over-involved parents are hardly the biggest problem facing teenagers today. maybe you should be more concerned with the ones who let their kids run around randomly screwing each other and doing coke.
umm, chrissy does have an option of not answering when her parents call. let me break it down for ya allie. it's simple, DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE!!!!! I think that Chrissy needs to take a stand for herself. i don't think telling her to "grow up" is ridiculous. allie, i think you are ridiculous for badgering me. she is a minor who is going to be off to college soon. what is she going to do when her parents aren't around at college? she won't know how to handle adult situations since she was never treated like one. so, i think it is wrong that her dad is so involved in her life. it is on the verge of creepy. please don't correct me in my views. i don't really care about yours. i am free to speak my mind without being harassed by you allie. it seems that kids rebel who aren't really able to live there lives when they are young. so, i think it's a really bad thing that they don't trust chrissy. they never let her do anything without butting in on it. they need to let her make her own decisions and mistakes. that is part of life. allie don't vier from the subject. i am not talking about teens running around screwing each other and doing coke. i am talking about an over involved parent. who might actually cause chrissy to do the things you state as bad. kinda a paradox.
Also I agree, parents that over protective, they barely give their kids any privacy or freedom, esp. her being 17, may likely be one of the girls that goes to college and goes crazy at the parties, sex, drugs, etc.
i agree with what allie said. but i do think that chrissy's parents should lighten up some. that being said, most of these kids have entirely too much freedom and the actual presence of concerned parents on this show is a breath of fresh air. her parents just need to find a happy medium. not so daunting but not letting her do whatever she wants
I agree with Allie. All of those kids can barely drive a car and they were all WASTED on that show on Tuesday night. I think there is nothing wrong with the fact that Chrissy's parents are overprotective. They have probably seen previous Laguna Beach episodes, and look how all of those kids turned out. None of them went to college with the exception of LC and a few others, they've been busted for DUI's, and some of them have gone to jail. Their parents gave them freedom and look where it got them. NOWHERE. Maybe her parents want more for her than the life of a reality tv star. They're trying to keep her on track...good for them for at least giving a shit about their kid.
"umm, chrissy does have an option of not answering when her parents call. let me break it down for ya allie. it's simple, DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE!!!!! I think that Chrissy needs to take a stand for herself. i don't think telling her to "grow up" is ridiculous. allie, i think you are ridiculous for badgering me."
uh, no one was badgering or "harrassing" you. I was simply disagreeing with you. no need to get your panties in a bunch about it.
who do you think pays for chrissy's phone, btw? the likely result of her "taking a stand" and refusing to answer when her parents call... is getting her phone taken away. or hey, maybe her car. 17-year-olds living with their parents can't simply do whatever the hell they want. I actually think she handled the situation pretty well, by talking to her dad the next day and telling him how he felt. he even apologized for embarrassing her. see, it takes a lot more maturity to actually communicate with your parents than to act like a bratty teenager and disobey them completely.
and I very much agree with lauren's comment. chrissy's hardly a sheltered, naive little girl, hell, she's on an mtv reality show. but her parents have seen how kids like jason turn out, and they care enough to make sure that doesn't happen to her.
I see the flip side of this coin. I had an overprotective Dad like Chrissy. He was always super interested in who I liked, and he liked to show up or call at every event I attended. Everyone thought he was a terrific if slightly overprotective father. They didn't see or know that I was molested from the age of 7 on. I see something slightly more creepy going on here, I'm not saying Chrissy's father is a child molester but I get the heeby jeebies everytime that girl's phone rings...
Chrissy's parents probably watched Laguna Beach and saw things they probably don't want to see their daughter doing on national television. But they do need to loosen up and stop calling her all the time. It's her senior year, they should let her have fun.
hopefully that's not what's going on here. I suspect that someone who's molesting his daughter probably wouldn't sign on to do a reality show with her, but I guess anything's possible.
Has anyone noticed how refreshingly non-catty a lot of the cast seems to be so far? The only thing I heard was a small comment about some girl and DVF dresses. Well, and Allie not inviting Taylor to the party, but even then I think there was something about it only being seniors. I'm honestly surprised no one has been making fun of Chrissy and her daddy convos. Of course, this could all change.
The whole Allie-Chase-Taylor thing reminds me of LC-Stephen-Kristin.
I've noticed that too. Even though Allie and Chrissy have their own cliques, and don't really talk to each other, they are not that catty or say bad things about each other, but you're right, that could change!
I agree with the last 2 posters. Allie and Chrissy share a lot of the same friends. I just think MTV is trying to make those two look like rivals since they both are interested in Clay. I think the real rivals are Taylor and Allie though. Samantha is the only one I can see being catty. She seems like the type to say whatever just to be on tv. I like this season a lot better than last season. Season 3 was all people talking crap about one another, hating her and hating him. So boring.
Allie, answer this question for me. How do you know who pays Chrissy's phone bill? Wait I know the answer, YOU DON'T!!!!!! I agree that parents involved in a teens life is good to a point. I definitly feel that Chrissy's parents have crossed that line. If you can't see that then you are lying. Yes you are right Allie. Chrissy's dad did apologize for his behavior. But, the very next time she went out he did the same behavior again. So, I don't think he meant what he said when he apologized. Like I said to you before. Don't lecture me with your views.
thank you allie for pointing out the skills that it takes to deal with your parents. you must have been a wonderful child that did nothing wrong. in fact it seems to have made you a very narrow minded individual. applauds to your upbringing.
let me touch on lauren's comment that you reposted. no matter how much her parents try to force Chrissy to be or act a certain way it doesn't matter much. Chrissy is her own person and she is going to do what she chooses to do. This is reguardless of what her parents want her to do. I don't think that every kid in the world is destined to turn out like Jason. I mean that is a little silly. So, I guess your point is that you have to call your daughter 1,000 times a day. Then you can be satisfied that you are a good parent. Huh, I hope it works for ya Allie.
7:40, I do agree that just because your parents aren't like Chrissy's does not mean you are going to turn out like Jason, but I was responding to the comments saying that overprotective parents automatically make the child turn out to be a crazy party slut. You guys sound just as narrow-minded to say that a child will turn out a certain way just because she has overprotective parents. Just like you said, no matter how much or how little you parent, your child's life choices are ultimately up to them. However, I do think that it is important to be a part of their choices and to monitor what they are doing. Chrissy's dad was doing it to an extreme, but at least he cares enough to do it. She's lucky to have parents like that.
Chrissy's parents are way too protective. I had protective parents growing up, but they knew when to back off. She will go wild at some point. She kind of bugs me, though.
I was surprised at how mature Allie handles most situations. I thought she would have a more Kristin-like attitude about things, but I can respect the way she handles herself (so far...).
I thought Sam's behavior at the Pink Party was pretty strange... like she'd been drinking or on drugs. Who knows what these kids do.
I just wish all of the girls didn't look exactly alike.
I do like the way there isn't a lot of catty fighting between the girls like on LB. It gets kind of old having clique vs. clique. So far, this show isn't half bad. But I do agree with previous posts saying these kids have way too much freedom. But I think that's the norm now. Kids get cell phones at 10 and do whatever they want. I don't think it's right, but that's what this world has come to.
7:40- there's no need to get so defensive just because I don't agree with you.
even if chrissy does pay her own phone bill, which I very much doubt, her parents still have the authority to take the phone away from her. do you really think she could just blatantly disobey them without any consequences? ignoring her dad's phone calls, if anything, would just get her in trouble and make the whole situation worse.
and from what I remember, he didn't apologize for calling her, he apologized for over-reacting by dragging her away from chase. so no, he didn't go and do the exact same thing again, because that would've been showing up at the party and taking her home.
just because everyone is "their own person" doesn't mean they're going to turn out exactly the same regardless of how they're raised. I'm not saying everyone will turn out like jason, but do you really think jason's parents did a stellar job raising him? you can do much more harm to your kids by ignoring them and letting them do whatever they want than you can by being overly involved in their lives.
^Do we really know how involved Jason's parents were. I mean in that season of Laguna they didn't show much parent involvement at all. Maybe because the parents wanted no part of the show.
I am sorry that I went off on you. I do agree that parent involvment is important.
I still feel Chrissy's Dad is way overboard. He should be involved but, to a point. I just feel he has crossed that point.
lauren, i also agree with you. it is good that chrissy's dad is involved. i just don't like how much he is involved. it's weird. almost obsessive. not healthy.
I know this is about Newport Harbor but I remember Jason's parents not allowing him to go to Cabo. I don't know if it means anything if they let him do whatever when he was in Laguna.
I don't know whether Jason would have been able to go to Cabo, but IIRC, he went to Costa Rica with his parents. The only thing about his parents I remember hearing is that his they didn't really work, they just lived off of his grandparents money? Regardless, I don't think we know enough about Jason's parents to really know how involved they are.
For some reason Samantha's kind of grown on me. She's not gorgeous, but she's kind of cute (she does look young). She seems like she could be fun to hang out with.
chrissy's father really freaks me out. I feel like they have some weird incestuous relationship going on. It actually makes me not like the show just cuz of her weird parents. blah.
hey i have a dad that is REALLY protective of me. and you know, in college, i turned out fine. so it is ignorant to say that overprotective kids turn to be the worst. It is really refreshing to see chrissy's situation. i use to be the girl that all my friends worried about bc of my dad. it kind of endears me to her more. you know? and i dont think that chrissy's father is creepy. that's wat parents do; they worry. i do feel that he is a bit TOO protective but remember this is tv. im sure they edited some stuff to make it seem like he called SOOO many times; dramatization. :P
and that samantha girl was WAY out of line. dude if my so called BFF did that to me, i would be PISSED. i cant believe allie put total blame on chase. samantha threw herself on him. she seems like she studied laguna beach so that she could "master" the art of backstabbing B*tch to get more airtime.
Protective parents are great. The way I was brought up though was.....I tell my parents where I'm going and who I'm with maybe even give them a number but that's where it stops. I'm sure we were all brought up a different way. I dont look at it as having too much freedom though. If kids want to drink they're going to do it. I can remember countless parties taking place with under age drinking I just chose not to be a part of it. The only difference with these kids is that we were getting video taped and broadcasted for MTV. They seem like typical kids to me, I dont see "too much freedom."
And maybe MTV felt too much parent involvement would be boring. I dont know where ya'll went to school but we had lesbians, homosexuals, party girls, drugs, alcohol....I know I'm probably making this look really bad. But life is about choices and those things are out there. It doesnt matter how many phone calls you get. I mean doesnt Chrissy hook up with Chase at her house on the next episode. Where are her parents then?
I'm not trying to knock anyones form of parenting that's a debate that can go on forever but looking at these kids and trying to pass some sort of "judgement," that may be the wrong choice of word, based on an MTV reality show doesnt work IMO.
it's tough for me to compare my parents to this situation, since nobody really had cell phones when I was in HS... so I did the same as you, gave my parents the who, where, when, and phone number. if it was any sort of party, there needed to be an adult around. I had a fairly strict curfew up until graduation, the only time I got that waived was prom... oh, and if there was a boy in my room, I couldn't have the door closed. luckily my boyfriend's parents did not have the same rule :)
anyway, then I moved into a coed dorm with coed bathrooms, and although my parents were... unimpressed, let's say... they trusted me enough to give me some freedom. I was always very honest with them, and I think that helped.
they ended up being less strict with my little sister, I'm not sure if they were just tired at that point or if they assumed she would be as well-behaved as I'd been, and she definitely had some problems as a result. obviously I can't conclude a lot from a sample size of 2, but if they'd been as strict with her as they were with me, there's no way she would've ended up sleeping with some 20-year-old guy who bought her beer when she was 13.
just think if heidi and spencer wouldnt of gone to heidis parents .. heidi and spencer wouldve been in MALIBU too.. ahh. that would be good thought. lol
This was a great episode. I am not sure where to start... Parents are wise! I like the fact that the father pointed out that Heidi has placed all her eggs into one basket.
Heidi has a nice family.
It cool to see that LC misses her friend. If you have been best friend with someone for more than 2 years... you have to be a cold bitch to not miss them at all.

Chrissy's Dad seriously freaks me out! He acts more like a jealous boyfriend than a concerned parent. Really creepy.
I think this show is better than LB3 it seems more real and Clay is hott and Chrissy also has like a unique voice but Samantha's is annoying it's so sweet and young. I respect allie for not hanging out with Chase.
I have a feeling that this show is going to get cancelled soon.

even if chrissy does pay her own phone bill, which I very much doubt, her parents still have the authority to take the phone away from her. do you really think she could just blatantly disobey them without any consequences? ignoring her dad's phone calls, if anything, would just get her in trouble and make the whole situation worse.
and from what I remember, he didn't apologize for calling her, he apologized for over-reacting by dragging her away from chase. so no, he didn't go and do the exact same thing again, because that would've been showing up at the party and taking her home.
just because everyone is "their own person" doesn't mean they're going to turn out exactly the same regardless of how they're raised.
Did I hear correctly that Chase made out with Samantha? Serious downgrade. Taylor is really pretty and Samantha is just FUG and annoying.
Everytime Chrissy is on screen, I can't stop staring at her damn teeth. They overwhelm her face it's just like whoaaaa.
There's not one decent guy on this season. They're all just players and fcuk everything that walks.
I wonder if jason's parents are racists rednecks just like him because it's pretty obvious they let him do whatever the hell he wants too.
sucks!
hey i read in a magazine that Clay from Newport Harbor is a model... Does anyone know for who?
samanth is so out of order
i wud be so mad at her if i was allie she just being modest i wud go frekin ape shit
x
Updates?
chrissy's father really freaks me out.

^ oops that should be we were'nt getting video taped and broadcasted. :-)
it's tough for me to compare my parents to this situation, since nobody really had cell phones when I was in HS... so I did the same as you, gave my parents the who, where, when, and phone number. if it was any sort of party, there needed to be an adult around.
------------------------------------------THE HILLS EPISODE 4-------------------------------------------
ohh i cant wait for MALIBU.
just think if heidi and spencer wouldnt of gone to heidis parents .. heidi and spencer wouldve been in MALIBU too.. ahh. that would be good thought. lol
omg.. brody.. :(
Heidi;s mom is leading on to the right place about the whole Lauren thing.
She knows something went wrong. haha.. heidi. what know.. lol
I feel bad for Brody. but it was a freak accident.
I cant belive that JB would do that to Audrina.. but its JB whats new. lol
Spencer is such a JERK.
blah blah blah.
Heidi did take HOLLYWOOD to seroulsy.
ahh Lauren :'( .. Do you think Lauren still has feelings for Jason?
Lauren and Audrina are such good friends.. but the sad thing.. Audrina aint over JB. :(
This was a great episode. I am not sure where to start... Parents are wise! I like the fact that the father pointed out that Heidi has placed all her eggs into one basket.
Heidi has a nice family.
It cool to see that LC misses her friend. If you have been best friend with someone for more than 2 years... you have to be a cold bitch to not miss them at all.
i think crissy's dad is a beater
and clay is hot
and chrissy needs to find a way to catch him.
just make out wid him already.
