According to Montag, her fiancé is “smart, funny, sweet, genuine and a great businessman! He’s my dream guy!” Has Heidi been brainwashed? Or is poor, misunderstood Spencer, 24, simply the victim of creative editing, that makes him out to be the bad guy?

Heidi on Spencer:
“I could start crying right now when I think about being without Spencer.”
Spencer on Lauren Conrad:
"Lauren is the show's Goody Two-shoes. Heidi is portrayed as the wild, goofy friend who is going through all these experiences that they can't have Lauren go through because she is the sweet, innocent character. But sometimes she's the craziest one of us all."
Heidi on being the bad girl:
“It's like I was the good girl on the show until I fell in love with Spencer, and then I became the bad girl. But they don't show the footage of how Lauren was sort of obsessed with Spencer, or how she called my mom in Colorado and told her I was involved in an abusive relationship, or how she would scream at me in the middle of the club if I wanted to leave at 2 a.m. to go see Spencer.”
Heidi on Lauren being needy:
“I spent a lot of time with her during her breakup with Jason. I was there for her every day and night when she cried, and I have been there for her through some horrible things you never saw on-camera. No matter how much time I spent with her, it was never enough. Lauren always wants to have a friend around.”
Heidi on how Lauren changed when she started dating Spencer:
“The minute I started not hanging out with her as much because I wanted to spend more time with Spencer, she got really upset. It hurt me that she could turn off our friendship so quickly just because she wasn't happy with my boyfriend. I made so many attempts to make Lauren happy, but you don't see that on the show.”
Spencer on how his relationship changed after Heidi and LC stopped being friends:
“All I know is that once Lauren was out of our relationship, it became flawless. It was like I had this girlfriend who had this friend whose goal it was to break us up. Lauren's not dumb, and she knows how to get what she wants. She's got a really strong team of people around her; she knows how to work it.”
Spencer on being grateful:
"Heidi and I both know that without Lauren there wouldn't have been The Hills, and believe me, we are grateful for that, and for being on a hit show."

All these two do is talk about Lauren, get a life.
It's so funny how they claim that all of this drama happened that would make Heidi and Spencer seem so innocent in all of this, but not a single bit of footage ever made it to the air. We're not idiots Heidi and Spencer...we all know these are your terrible personalities on and off the show!

At least Spencer got one thing right. Nobody would know who they were without Lauren. It's just sad that all they want to do is talk about Lauren. Get over it already. We know you guys don't like her, you said it countless number of times. What is the point of telling every magazine. Now get on with your "flawless" relationship and drift away.
I feel that Heidi was never really the "good girl" she claims she was on the show. Even in season 1 her behavior wasn't exactly angelic: jeapordizing lauren's internship to attend a company sponsored party, giving away the dog she "cried" and begged for once she was able to do appearances, breaking up with Jordan on tv knowing full well he would probably cry and beg to stay with her...I know we definitely don't see everything, but Lauren screaming and making up lies? She didn't even scream at Jessica when she saw her hookup with Jason. I think that blaming "editing" is just a sorry excuse for her behavior because MTV wouldn't be able to cast her in such a horrible light if she didn't actually say or do such things. You can't make footage appear from nowhere.
Heidi needs to get a life and a clue. Whilst i do not doubt MTV does edit the show a certain way, there is plenty of footage there where she is being a bitch and a bad friend. Also there is plenty of footage where Spencer is just being an ass and controlling and she falls for it.
No matter the editing the words and actions are real.
How Heidi can say Lauren was obessed with Spencer is beyond me. She hated him. It sounds like Spencer has warped her brain. If anything these two are obsessed with Lauren and bringing her down. If anything Spencer is the one obsessed with Lauren and has brainwashed Heidi into his little hate club. Spencer acts like an ex-boyfriend turned stalker when he talks about Lauren and rants about her. It is seriously creepy how obsessed he is.
As for all the awful things she said about Lauren being needy are not true. Lauren is independent and strong as opposed to Heidi who will do anything for a guy including drop her friends which even her own parents seem to agree with.
Lauren was being a good friend and trying to show Heidi what a controlling freak Spencer was. Everyone who has eyes can see how he manipulates her just like how he manipulated her into moving in with him.
They sure know how to work the media though but then who is buying it.
Speidi are both talentless fools who beyond being on a reality show have nothing. At least Lauren has talent and a bright future.

Sometimes I really feel bad for Lauren. All she did was be a GREAT friend to Heidi. She is responsible for where Heidi is now. If Heidi can grace the cover of cosmogirl a huge part was due to her friendship with LC.
What does she do in return? She used that same plattform that LC helped her built to destroy Lauren. All they do is bash the girl and Lauren has yet to say anything negative about HER.
I hope Lauren can learn from this mistake. You have to chose your friend very wisely especially when you have a certain degree of fame because users such as Heidi are abundant.
I have always been a fan of LC and I am even more now. The way she has handled all of this bashing is admirable. I hope she continues to learn and grow. I will for sure be buying a few pieces from her clothing line because they are great classic clothes and wish her great success in life.
Heidi loved and cared about lauren, until Lauren made her choose and went psycho, lauren needs to get a life and stop making people chooose. Lots of girls don't like their friends boyfriend, but you just deal with it and let them learn for theirselves and yes, hang out with them less and not put them in a weird position.
^ You might have had a valid point but Heidi is a bitch. Her boyfriend trash talked LC constantly, tried to ruin her B-day with a stupid toast and hooked up one of her best friend while she was drunk with a guy she still liked. Lauren did not make Heidi chose, Spencer did.
Actually 2:14 PM, if you watch The Hills, it was Spencer who made Heidi choose. He bitches and moans about Lauren every chance he gets. Heidi deserves his lame ass.
