Thursday, October 18, 2007 || Former 'Laguna Beach' Cast Member to Appear in Two Films
Laguna Beach alum Kristin Cavallari has been keeping busy. The 20-year-old reality star and budding actress is set to appear in two films next year, Spring Breakdown and Green Flash. The first is a comedy featuring Saturday Night Live stars Amy Poehler and Rachel Dratch, Parker Posey (The Return of Jezebel James) and Amber Tamblyn (Joan of Arcadia), while the latter is a sports-comedy-drama that stars former Baywatch actor David Charvet.Spring Breakdown follows the vacation adventure of three thirty-something friends, Gayle (Poehler), Becky (Posey) and Judi (Dratch). All three have always dreamed of living a fabulous lifestyle, but unfortunately never grew out of being geeks. So, when Becky is given the chance to unofficially chaperone her boss' daughter, Ashley (Tamblyn), to the college spring break hotspot, South Padre Island, the three women decide to try to turn their un-hip lives around. In the midst of the partying, they come to realize that it's actually better to stand out than to fit in.
Other cast members include Mae Whitman (Arrested Development), Seth Meyers (Saturday Night Live) and Will Arnett (30 Rock), Poehler's real-life husband. Kristin Cavallari appears on the film as a popular girl at the Spring Break parties.
As for Green Flash, the movie revolves around a former college basketball star looking to make a great comeback. The film's central character is named Cameron Day (Charvet), who takes a 10-year break from the athletic community after failing to come to terms with the mental stress of being a basketball hero. He then decides to return to the public eye, but is instead set on ruling the pro beach volleyball circuit. Throughout his journey, he is inspired by an artistic and beautiful woman named Mia (Torrey DeVitto), who leads him down a path of self-awareness and enlightens him on the phenomenon of the Green Flash: a fleeting moment of brilliance in nature.
On Green Flash, Kristin Cavallari will appear in a supporting role, playing a girl named Lana.
The two upcoming films are not the Laguna Beach's star's first acting projects. She has appeared in a few scripted television and movie productions, including Veronica Mars, Fingerprints and Cane.

I hope she acts a whole lot better thann she did in her bit part on Cane Tuesday. She was pretty bad on what little acting she did. Sorry kristin lovers she was not good even in a bit part. I have no desire to watch a 2 hour film with that kind of acting.

^ Nice thought but she was on that "wish" program on the CW channel that she was host on and it was canceled after 2 episodes. She has no "spark" on screen or interacting with anyone. It's a shame because she is so pretty and she was a fav on LB but I predict her "acting" career is not going to happen nor anything in public life except Nick Zanos Fiancee/wife. He's not doing that much these days either so who knows where she will end up but it definitely won't be as a "star".

The fact that she gets a reaction is enough in itself. Angelina Jolie has hardly had a blockbuster career but simply posting her picture creates a reaction negative or positive...so Kristin is doing alright for herself.

Please do not compare Kristin to Angelina Jolie. AJ is a bonafide star. Kristin is not and will never be. Spencer and Heidi get a lot of reactions too for negative reasons. The same goes for Kristin. I think its an accurate assesment that there are more negative things talked about or written about Kristin than positive ones. So just because she gets a reaction doesn't mean that its a good thing.

Angelina has won an Oscar and have been nominated and won several acting awards, is an offspring to an Oscar winner father who has been a great fixture in Hollywood, she was born and raised in Hollywood and have rubbed shoulders with some of Hollywood's most elite probably since birth. And let's not forget, she's married to someone who many call "the Hottest Man Alive", so that makes her half of Hollywood's most famous golden couple: Brangelina. They are Hollywood Royalty. How else can you become more 'bonafide' than that????

8:41 I was just an extra in The Game Plan. The production was stalled a couple of months b/c The Rock had injuries, and it still only took 11 months to get into theaters. Movies don't take THAT long to make. There are some people that question Kristin's career b/c the fact is that she's not shown up in anything big.
