I eally enjoyed watching Newport this season. i felt like the kids were normal and likable. Thre probably won't be another season because there wasn't any major drama, but i liked that the stars of the show were down to earth. They tried to make Allie out to be the "B" of the show in the beginning, but aside from a couple of scenes, she was just as likable as Chrissy. What teenaged girl hasn't screamed at her parents about something she wanted to do?
Chrissy and Clay were really a sweet couple to watch. It was the kind of relationship most people in high school have. Although the media like to make it seem as if all teenagers are screwing around, it's not really like that.
I also liked that the show showed that there are upper middle class parents who are involved in their kids lives. They aren't just throwing money and gifts at their children and letting them raise themselves. As much as I loved Laguna, it seemed as if the kids had way too much freedom. They weren't like any of the kids that I grew up with. The Newport kids seemed real and more mature. They didn't thrive on drama. The girls seemed to have a good time without having big cat fights and being rude to each other.
I actually liked this show. It was nice not having a girl vs. girl situation like with Lauren and Kristin. I hope they do another season... I would watch it.
I loved Newport Harbor!! I think that they need to do like a reunion like they have with past seasons.. Anyways I hope that Clay and Chrissy are still together they seem like the type of people that could make a lond gistance relationship work!!
Newport Harbor was a terrible show i couldnt even watch it i sat down to watch a couple of them but couldnt because it was just awful...Laguna was a million times better show the that will ever be
Oh.. and about the second season.. They dont know yet because of the ratings.. they have to check them to see if it is worth it. I really hope it will not be like another Maui Fever! I would like to see more of the cast!
I thought this show was slightly boring because it was missing a lot of drama, but at the same time it was really sweet and seemed more realistic. Chrissy and Clay are such a cute couple and I thought the carving of initials was so adorable. They reminded me of Stephen and Kristin at the end of season 1 (when they were good, not during all the backstabbing and cheating).
I don't think they gave Newport Harbor much of a chance. It was on at 10:30 here so I always had to Tivo it since I have so much homework. By the time it came on I was too sleepy to watch.
I did like what I saw although it was nothing like the original LB.Although they didn't pick up until Spring break and it was over at graduation so we didn't get much of a chance to connect with the chracters. The chracters didn't seem to have a whole lot of connection like LB either. I would like to watch a second season but I would like to see it go the normal amount of time and on in the original time slot of 10:00.

Sasha: Awesome but not enough tv time. Would like to get to know this character better.
Grant: ewwwwwwwww He looks enough like spencer to be his brother. Sleazy like spencer is too.
Clay: gorgeous! Nice manners other wise just eh.
Chase: No big deal. Allie got the better end of that deal tho she probably didn't see it.
revee actually Chrissy didn't reject Clay's call at all! if you press pause and look real close at the screen you'll see that it says it was her Dad calling and this was his 3rd message. I think Chrissy was hoping it was Clay that's why she looked so wistful..
I'm actually kind of sad this season is over, I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. I think the producers learned a lot from the negative reaction to LB3 and found more likeable, normal kids who don't seem to be starting catfights just for tv time.
Agreed 5:36 this season won me over too. I do wish there were a few more episodes and I could have done without Samantha and Grant but the rest of the kids were great. Fave line of the season, when Allie is arguing w/ her Dad about going to Europe and he stops her cold by saying "Allie YOU are not replaceable" LOVED that : )!!
I had a flue for a few days so I spent my time healing in bed watching all of Laguna and Newport Harbor on my lap top. All seasons, all episodes. Laguna season 1 and 2 were OK, but I had a hard time watching the 3rd season. It was terrible! I can't believe what a screwed up world this is. Is that really what we're supposed to be watching for our entertainment? I feel so bad for some of the girls on the show... Anyway, I was just about to turn off my lap top and not watch Newport Harbor anymore because of the awful season 3 of Laguna Beach. But I'm happy I did. I loooved watching it! Chrissy - and all of the girls - were so genuine and sweet towards each other despite of the drama in their lives. It was just really really refreshing to see. I honestly found myself watching the show with a wide smile on my face many many times. This almost never happened while I was watching Laguna. I mean, isn't that what these shows are for? To make us feel good and to make us smile? More shows like this please and I might consider buying a TV!!! lol
