Wednesday, February 13, 2008 || Heidi: "I Cried Myself to Sleep" When My Video Came Out
Despite receiving anything but positive reviews, Heidi Montag's debut single "Higher" reached No. 7 on the iTunes Top 10 pop chart.

"Looks like all the haters are also buying it!" The Hills star tells Us Weekly in its latest issue, on newsstands now.

But the negative responses – "Makes me feel uncontrollably ill," "beyond pathetic," and "the crappiest video I have ever seen" were just some of the comments posted on Usmagazine.com – humiliated Montag.

"I just started sobbing uncontrollably," The Hills star tells Us.

"I cried myself to sleep that first night after my video came out," she says. "I just couldn't understand why people I didn't even know felt the need to be so cruel and hurtful toward me."

"I am just a 21-year-old from a small town in Colorado trying to follow her dreams," Montag says.

Boyfriend Spencer Pratt, the director of the video, was there for support. "I just held her and told her it was going to be OK," he tells Us. "This is just part of being an artist. If it were easy, everyone would be a pop star."

How did the video concept come to be?

"We were at the beach and, literally, Spencer had his camera and a boom box in the trunk," Montag recalls of the amateur shoot in October. "We did it in one take, maybe two, and it took us 20 minutes to film and cost us zero dollars."

"We had other ideas but we couldn't afford them," Montag says.

Check out the latest issue of Us Weekly, on newsstands now, for more from Heidi and Spencer, including the latest on their relationship and their feuds with The Hills costars.

Did she seriously think people were going to like that video?

honestly, if she had a REAL manager he/she would have stopped that video from coming out. I mean sometimes i wonder if spencer is really looking out for her bc it doesn't seem like it.

p.s people need to stop buying her song. They are just proving to the world that crappy music sells too.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!! What a couple of total scumbags these 2 are. "OH BOO-HOO, I can't sing, I can't dance and people are talking about it. I'm a famewhore and it's actually starting to work against me. Poor little me!" Go back to Colorado and hide under a rock you fug waste.

Heidi has said many times she doesn't read things written on the internet.
I think she's lying for sympathy.
Either way she can't sing and her video was tacky.

i'm pretty sure they know it was awful - that's why they released it. they knew they'd get a ton of bad press for how sh*tty it was and then speidi arranged for 2 different press releases about it - remember the 1st one where she talked about how grateful she was for any comment at all? how it took passion to write about her LOL and now they're spin spin spinning it another way saying how miserable she is about all the oh so mean things people are saying. I hate these FAKE idiots!

Her chin......just get it reduced, dammit!

Well duh...the video was ridiculous. Did she really think it was good? I thought that these two didn't care about the negative press. And why oh why does she have to keep reminding us that she is from a small town and blah blah. We get it already.

p.s. those shoes with that outfit looks awful.

I have to agree, I find it funny how one moment she seems to be saying the negative comments were still good to get and now it's like "Why Me." These two need to get over themselves. I really cant beleive people are buying the song, I can go into a studio and sound just as bad.

who cares about her?!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If people are buying the song it's because it's a novelty because it's so crappy. You can pull that once but not twice. Everyone knows she's a no talent.
The fact that she's boohooing about it is absolutely ridiculous.

I was dancing around my room to Body Language and Higher yesterday...I think they're really catchy songs, certainly better than what Britney Spears is doing these days and I just feel really bad for her that she has so much negativity aimed at her...poor girl. I wish you the best, Heidi xoxo

^Nice try Spencer! Britney is crap, but she'll always be better than Heidi.

OMG, she is so dumb and stupid

I went onto iTunes last night, and Heidi doesn't even have a top 100 song. Spencer and Heidi just LIE LIE LIE.

Yeah she said on entertainment tonight the other day that the video was a spoof and that it was supposed to be funny. Hmmmmm I wonder which lie has any truth to it. I don't feel a bit sorry for this wench. She has asked for every bit of critism she's had and every bit of it deserved. She needs to dump the piece of crap Pratt and get her own life back. Iused to really like her on the hills until Pratt entered the picture. What is wrong with these two???????

I also want to speak up for Brit Brit. The woman has been diagnosed with BiPolar disease. I have a friend who has it and before they were diagnosed they were just crazy and no one could understand. I hope she gets on good meds that even her out and her life gets back on track. It's one thing like speidi to ask for bad things to happen but when you are really sick like Brit I have to get in their corner. Heidi could never compare to Britney when Britney is at her best or even her worse as far as that goes. Get well Britney!

Uhh, OK I wrote that thing about dancing around in my room to Heidi's music which was really embarrassing to admit but you don't have to be so mean to accuse me of being Spencer! I'm a girrrrl. I'm 17 and I live in Seal Beach, CA. All my friends think the song is really catchy (if you just listen to the music itself and not watch the video). I don't really know her so I don't want to say anything bad about her, I just think it's sad that there's so much negativity aimed towards her, that's all. And yes It's sad about what happened to Britney and I wish her the best as well!

The song itself could be catchy, but imo Heidi can't sing and that video was awful. Honestly, I don't feel bad for Heidi one bit.

Lord, now that we know how bad she feels about the video, is she going to have more work done? It seems like everytime Heidi has low self-esteem, something else changes on her body. Oh lord, what's it going to be next???

20 minutes to film 1-2 takes. Sure... I bet it was 10-20 takes at least.
