"The Hills" star Heidi Montag thinks voting is important. So one has to wonder why she hasn't registered to do so herself, despite her claims last month that she's supporting Republican Senator John McCain's bid for the White House.
She'll tell you why herself:
"I am definitely registering to vote. I've just been so busy and crazy filming and working on my album and working on my fashion show that I've hardly had any time," she told MTV News backstage at her Heidiwood fashion show. "But it's definitely a priority, and I'm doing it this week."
And when she does, she'll happily cast her ballot for McCain, because "he has a lot of experience. ... I think he'd be a great leader for our country."
Politics aren't the only thing on Montag's mind these days. Of course, there's her Heidiwood line, which she launched with retail chain Anchor Blue. And on Friday, she debuted her designs in L.A. — with a little help from guest MC Perez Hilton — which, she said, was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream (the fashion line, not the Perez part).
"I've been obsessed with fashion since I can remember. I used to have drawings all over my notebooks. ... So I moved to Italy for a year and I studied fashion there, and then I moved to the Academy of Art University of San Francisco," she said. "I just wanted my line to represent me. I want it to be fun and flirty for the everyday woman. You can dress it up, you can dress it down ... you can mix and match it, and you feel good wearing it. And it fits every woman. It fits different silhouettes, and it's good for spring, because the fabrics are all lightweight."
Montag also pooh-poohed reports of a film version of the hit series "The Hills" — well, not so much the film, but her involvement in it.
"I've never discussed a movie possibility for 'The Hills' ... and I'm not sure if for my first movie I'd let Lauren Conrad narrate me, so ... I don't think that would be something I would do," she said. "If I was doing movies, I'd want it to be with Denzel Washington or something like that. If they were to make a 'Hills' movie, I wouldn't be in it. No, thank you."
But while she's not about to get onboard with L.C. and company, that doesn't mean she doesn't have silver-screen dreams of her own. Just ask her.
"The perfect movie I want to do is like [Jennifer Garner's character] Sydney Bristow on 'Alias.' I want to be, like, an action star. I want a big gun," she laughed. "Like Angelina Jolie roles. I want to be the badass."
I'm calling bs on her living in italy and what is this crap that she wanted to be a designer? she never once talked about anything except wanting to party and met guys. lying ho..
It doesn't take much talent to slap your name on some clothes. Lauren actually designed her clothes and goes to school for fashion. Heidi dropped out early because she said it wasn't for her. Heidi is ridiculous and needs to go away. Nothing she can say will make people like her more.
studied in italy? BS! I wouldn't brag about going to school to study fashion. She dropped out not only once, but twice! I can't judge her pieces but that's just cuz i don't like her. Speidi is a joke.
