I think she looks beautiful here. I wonder why Lauren can only seem to land the covers of teen magazines other than Shape? I keep thinking she'll get Elle, or at least Glamour or Cosmo or something. I think one with Lauren would sell well. Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie get these types of covers so I can't imagine it would be bad for their image or whatever. Even just a spread would be nice - I mean even the RHONY got one in Harper's Bazaar.
I guess most of all, I'd like to see a more adult article on her - all this "I'm not a tortured soul" stuff gets kind of old. And don't even get me started on US Weekly.
To be honest, I think Lauren is usually only on the covers of teen magazines because her fan base consists of mostly young teens. A lot of the older generation, past their teens, would have no clue who she is (except people like me who are almost thirty and still love this garbage).
Lauren is big in the world of Laguna Beach and reality tv but quite a small fish in the world of actual realtiy.
I don't know...I honestly think a lot of people in their 20s watch the Hills as well (I'm 27 myself). We may not be the same people who squee or whatever over Lauren, but I do think there's an interest there.
Plus magazines like Cosmo and Glamour are pretty much late teen magazines...I was certainly reading them instead of Seventeen when I was in my late teens and early 20s. Of course I don't read these anymore because frankly if you've read 5 of them, you've read them all, but I would think Lauren would fit in well with their market.
Although personally, I'd rather see a nice article that's a bit more adult - Elle, Vanity Fair, and such. She's got the fashion thing going on so I think it could work. I just think it'd be refreshing to see a more adult perspective.
Anyway, sorry for the lengthy post - I just think its curious that magazines haven't really embraced her beyond the teen and celebrity mags. Plus, the Hills has a decent amount of drinking and partying featured - should she really be featured more in younger magazines rather than the 18-22 demographic?

Yeah, I agree she's a nobody - I'm not denying that. I'm just saying Lauren's pretty much right there with her. They're both dumb as dirt and are only famous because they have rich parents, get in catfights, and are somewhat attractive. That's why Lauren can't get past the teeny bopper stuff and Kristin does more hosting than acting - if either of them had legitimate talents people would take them more seriously.
And before anyone whines "why do you watch", I like this stuff because frankly its fun to laugh at stupid people. I just think its silly when people compare the two like they're so different...they're both talentless, marginally attractive, dimwits and no one really knows why they're famous.

I remember NYT or WSJ or someone doing an article on her and she sounded really, really stupid. I think part of it was just an angle they were going for from the get-go, but she also may just be really, really stupid...as far as I know they were legitimate quotes.
So maybe I don't want a more adult perspective? Then again, she might be able to sound more knowledgeable if the interview has a bit more of a fashion focus.
Even then, I think she still needs to educate herself a bit more if she doesn't want to be made fun of.
