Tuesday, January 27, 2009 || The City Gets Renewed
Despite less than stellar ratings, Whitney Port's MTV reality show, The City, has been renewed, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
On Monday's Tyra Banks Show, Port admitted she was initially iffy about opening up her private life on camera.
"I am dating on the show. It was something I was really nervous about," she said. "Clearly, I mean, who wants to date while having three cameras around you? I mean, it's not an ideal situation."
Asked about smooching boys (including Aussie rocker Jay Lyon) on camera, she said, "It's natural. I just let my true feelings show, and then I can do no wrong."
Also returning on MTV: Vanessa and Angela Simmons' Daddy's Girls, according to the Reporter. MTV has also ordered 20 episodes of spinoff Teen Cribs, which debuted as a special on Jan. 17.
I'm happy they're giving 'The City' a second season and a chance to find a bigger audience. I like Whitney and while I'm stll getting used to all the new people the show has grown on me a lot.
I do like the show. It's not as good as Laguna Beach or the early seasons of the Hills, but I do think its better than what the Hills has been offering lately.
"New City, New Drama"
The Hills (Season 1) | Ep. 101 Plot: Lauren and Heidi move into their new place to start their new lives in The Hills. But the girls begin to drift apart when Lauren's new found responsibility towards school and work clashes with Heidi's partying, drama filled lifestyle. Download || Watch Online
