|| Lauren Readies for Her Runway Debut
As if having your first runway show at Los Angeles Fashion Week wasn’t enough, Lauren Conrad is still having to deal with rumors of Heidi Montag’s competing clothing line. But Heidi’s “affordable fashion” isn’t on Lauren’s radar anyway — the designer not only admits to USA Today her love of Moschino and Marc Jacobs, but her case of nerves about her debut runway collection. “I’m really nervous. It’s one thing to have your designs displayed in stores. To have them walk down the runway is a really big deal,” Lauren says of her eponymous collection. The Hills star admits that without fame she wouldn’t have come so far so fast. But as much as Lauren loves her designer shoes, don’t expect her to be designing them anytime soon. “I don’t know if I would do shoes. I like buying them, but that’s not something I’d be good at designing. I’m gonna stick to buying shoes.”

Q: What are you up to right now?
A: Eating lunch. I just got back from a hike so I'm supposed to eat.
Q: That sounds so normal! To viewers, you're this impeccably styled fashionista who interned atTeen Vogue. What's the most unfabulous part of your day?
A: We are interns. We work 11-hour days, so there's nothing glamorous about that. The only thing they don't show is us sitting around being boring. We sit and watch DVDs and do nothing.

Q: Do you think of yourself as a style icon?
A: Not really. I like clothes and I like dressing fun and taking chances, but I don't consider myself an icon.
Q: What's your biggest fashion splurge?
A: Shoes.
Q: How many pairs do you have?
A: I have no idea. I counted once awhile ago, and I was around 60. I don't know. My favorites are Marc Jacobs and Moschino. I like having fun with shoes.
Q: Now, to The Hills. Is Laguna Beach baddie Kristin Cavallari going to be on the show in the future?
A: No. Not that I know of.
Q: What can viewers expect?
A: I can't tell you that much. We've been on a break. My first day back filming was today. It was really nice to not have cameras around. But I do miss the crew.
Q: You have a clothing line, Lauren Conrad Collection, and are doing a show at L.A. Fashion Week on Tuesday. Nervous?
A: Um, yeah, I'm really nervous. It's one thing to have your designs displayed in stores. To have them walk down the runway is a really big deal.
Q: And are you still in college at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles?
A: Yes, I'm still in college. The school has been so great working with my schedule. I take two classes at a time. My counselor jokes that I'm on a 10-year plan. I'd love to get a degree in the next year, in product development.
Q: You did a capsule bag line with Linea Pelle. Any plans for more accessories?
A: I don't know if I would do shoes. I like buying them, but that's not something I'd be good at designing. I'm gonna stick to buying shoes.
Q: Has being so famous helped or hurt your design aspirations?
A: It's definitely been double-edged. I would not have my own clothing line if I wasn't on a TV show. OK, maybe eventually I would, but I'd have to work a lot harder. This is what I wanted to do. But I had to work hard to prove it.

The Hills starlets started things off by heading over to the popular Urth Cafe in West Hollywood, getting their lunch on with a fellow female friend.
After the meal, the duo filled up with gas and headed to Ikea in Carson, where they purchased scented candles and other household items.
In related news, Miss Conrad is also readying for her first fashion show, which just so happens to be this coming Tuesday during LA Fashion Week.

To kick things off, the girls headed to the local dry cleaner to collect their laundry before making their way over to the DMV.
Upon arrival at the DMV, LC was asked by the paparazzi if she was renewing her license - to which she jokingly responded “I don’t have a license” before hurrying inside.

The Hills star - who just turned 22 - picked the models to walk in her fashion show at a casting call yesterday at the People Revolution PR studios in L.A.
Also there to help: Pal Whitney Port, who works at the powerhouse public relations firm.
Conrad, who makes her L.A. Fashion Week debut Tuesday, ran into another reality star at the call: America’s Most Smartest Model contestant Andre Birieanu.

|| Heidi Always Used to Talk About Her Stepbrother
While Heidi Montag mourns the loss of her stepbrother, several of her Hills costars have reached out to offer their condolences.
"I actually texted her," Audrina Patridge told PEOPLE at Thursday's Sleepwalking premiere in West Hollywood. "It was really sad. She must be going through a hard time."
With Montag in Colorado to attend the funeral for stepbrother Eric O'Hara – a veteran of several combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan who died in a freak accident Feb. 28 – Patridge noted, "I haven't seen her."
Although Patridge didn't hear back from Montag, she added that costar Whitney Port "called her too. Hopefully she'll be okay."
Patridge, 22 – who spent time on MTV's The Hills hanging with Montag before the blonde's friendship with Lauren Conrad imploded last season – noted that Montag often mentioned her 24-year-old stepbrother.
"I always used to hear her talk about him," she said. "So I knew of him. But I never knew him."
For now, Patridge and her Hills crew are wrapping up episodes for the third season – and preparing for the next one.
"It's just all of us getting to know each other even more than we did," she said, adding that it results in, "the typical drama that everyone loves to watch!"
Asked if Conrad, 21, and Montag will reconcile, Patridge teased, "We haven't started fourth season yet, so you never know what could happen."
