It's almost time to say good bye to this season of "Laguna Beach" and the executive producer, Tony DiSanto, has promised that something big will be revealed. "There will be a couple of surprises that are going to tip off some great new stuff coming up on the channel," DiSanto said.
One thing we do know is that the episode, Monday at 10 p.m. on MTV, will provide clues about the third season of the network's biggest hit since "The Osbournes" - namely, who's going to be in the cast.
"There will be some familiar faces and some new faces," said DiSanto.
Many of the current cast members, including Stephen, who was at the center of the Lauren (aka LC)/Kristin love triangle, have left the confines of Laguna. And Seventeen cover girl Kristin, the show's breakout star, is surely way too busy appearing on red carpets to keep up with the high jinks of "Laguna."
The finale, like last season's, will be commercial-free, with cast members in front of a live audience in MTV's Times Square studio dishing and reminiscing. The episode will feature a denouement between Stephen and Kristin.
As the reality series prepares for its next season, much has been made of "Laguna's" "looks-too-good-to-be-true" veneer.

Im sad that stephen and kristin are leaveing now who will bring all the drama next season!! i cant wait for the last epasode im sad that it is until the 3rd season

I hate to be picky (no I don't!) but I really wish they could find a way to continue on with the current "players" even if they had to modify the format!
They should've cancelled The Real World (which is so shitty now) and moved all the LB folks into a funky made-over house in LA & find out what its like when people stop being polite.... JK, but I'm not looking forward to a new cast of characters!
^i'm right there with u.i'm kinda expecting the new cast memebers not to be as "real" or more scripted now that every1 knows it's the hottest shows around.the new season might come out lookin like a movie or something.not a reality tv show..not that it's gonna keep me from seeing it.haha
I'm hooked too! I'm really surprised how sad I feel to know we won't know what's going on with the old gang anymore. I agree about the reality of the show becoming diluted! To me, that's what happened to The Real World, etc--everyone began acting the way they thought would get more air time & came into the show with an "agenda". Hope LB can keep it REAL 'cause they sure have a loyal audience - they owe us!!
yea i agree the real world does suck now and i love laguna. and i wish that they would just keep lc, kristin and all of them cuz thats what makes the show. the new cast in my opinion just seems sort of fake and seems like they will try to hard. i hope the old cast makes alot of appearances on lb3.
I think that it will not be as good as the original cast. Season 3 will be a flop, I think the Hill with LC will be good. The Laguna fans aren't fans of the location but the people and their personality. We feel we know these guys and we like inviting them into our homes via the show. To bring in wannabees will not be the same.
