It was all so romantic, The Hills stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag getting engaged in idyllic Santa Barbara, Ca., with the waves of the Pacific Ocean crashing around them only 8 months after they hooked up. But wait! What's that? It's a manager with a contract in hand, the dirtiest deal in Hollywood, the romance is a publicity stunt to make the two cover-worthy magazine stars and generate a significant side income! That's right, Celebrity Babylon has learned EXCLUSIVELY that the engagement between Pratt, 23, and Montag, 20, is a FAKE, as fake as Montag's new chest! "It's an arrangement that suits both of them," says an MTV insider, "they won't be walking down the aisle, they will go through the motions of planning a wedding, and then have a big break-up that will get lots of press. All caught on camera by photographers, of course." It's a lesson in profile raising publicity that Pratt learned at the knee of pal Brody Jenner, 23, who is widely believed to wooed childhood friend Nicole Richie, 26, after her engagement ended to DJ AM (Adam Goldstein), to raise his profile. Montag, 20, tried it first by getting breast enhancement surgery, which worked for a bit, but then her star went flat. When news of the fake engagement broke last month, MTV issued a coy, "We do not comment on the personal lives of our stars." Stars? What stars? A couple of young reality show goofs? We have exclusive video of photographers talking about the "set up" photos they arranged with the "engaged" couple! In the old studio system of Hollywood, this sort of chicanery was common place, but in this day and age it is shocking -- but not unexpected! Well duh Are we really supposed to be surprised by this piece of info. Everyone called this from the beginning. Now that they have been outed we won't have to be subjected to anymore of their sickeningly fake "candid" pictures. good
I prefer meet the total lying idiots! It's typical spencer B.S. and like angelica said, is anyone really surprised? I hope this puts the final nail in the heidi/spencer coffin.
PS Is anyone still in doubt that they planted the sex tape rumour about Lauren?
Wow. As usual, Heidi's class and morals have gone out the window now that she's with Spencer. They are both so sad. I hope her album flops.
Haha, that is great. The hate that people have for these too kids is ridiculous and pathetic. Her star is definately not flat. She's been in tons of magazines this week. People should stop hating, it's pathetic. Keep working it, Heidi. The most famous people are the ones that people love to hate and idiots definately love to hate on you. I can't believe they would stoop this low to get lots of press. Well actually, I do believe it. It sickens me, really. I used to like Heidi as a person inspite of her boob job and her being with Spencer but now my views have totally changed on her. Sad, Sad, Sad.
Reality TV, love it or hate it, right? What can do accept get sucked in to it? Haha.

Ha, I love these two!! MTV owes them so much if this is true. They made S2 into a great season and it looks like they'll carry S3 as well. I can't wait to see them!!! And seriously a lot of what Sasha said was right on, Heidi is the "villian" of the show because you all choose to hate her for whatever reason. The "villians" are always the best characters.
They will ruin S3. The only people who like these two are their relatives and themselves.
And don't think Spencer doesn't visit web sites. He does!

MTV owes Heidi & Spencer? As if! People watch the Hills because of Lauren, love her or hate her! I will be super disappointed if Heidi & Spencer play a big part in S3.
No one likes them. I really don't care who claims they have fans. Every time I see a picture of them anywhere people are just throwing up.
^ I agree. The mags featuring them aren't necessarily writing good things about them. Sure they have infamy right now, but that gets old real fast. In all fairness though, Heidi is a much better person than Spencer.

Bridget, you're right on the money. These people ramble on and on about how they don't care about Spencer and Heidi BUT they're still talking about them. LOL. They actually both have a fairly good following and lots of fans, I know several people that would rather watch Heidi than Lauren. Spencer has a pretty good sense of humor too, he doesn't bother me as much as Brody the Dousche Bag did. I wonder if S3 will revolve around Heidi like S2 did. I hope so...unless Lauren does something interesting and if she does, I'd be down to watch that.
