Photographers take pictures of lots of celebrities doing everyday things, it's not just Kristin. And regardless of whether she hired people to take pictures of her, which I doubt, she's hardly a 'famewhore.' And to make such petty comments like 'Oh Lauren's more famous than Kristin', 'Lauren doesn't do that!' is just petty. Kristin's not doing anything significant so why does it have such a big impact on you? Does it matter that people are taking pictures of her around her home, or people are taking an interest in her? I for one am thrilled to see Kristin in more photo ops. I was getting super annoyed reading US Weekly, OK and all those other mags and seeing creepy Heidi in every issue. Kristin actually has a boyfriend that doesn't care about the spotlight and they live normal happy lives and obviously the haters can't deal with it, so It's pointless to argue with lauren worshippers.
Wow, I didnt realize the Kristin/Lauren rivalry ran that deep. I personally like and dislike things about both of them (i.e., Kristin is cool, knows how to have fun, but is kind of a ho (sorry Kristin fans, she is), Lauren is sweet, reminds me more of myself, but is co-dependent and seems like she might be stuck-up to those less "fortunate" than her (sorry LC fans, but she does). I only made my comment (July 11th, 9:33pm) to state that Kristin has a lot of potential but doesn't seem to be using it. I know breaking into acting is very difficult but Steven seems to be doing it and you don't really see Kristin at all except for photo ops. One of those teen magazines named Kristin most likely to succeed out of the LBers but LC seems to be kicking her butt.
I guess we have dif. definitions of a "ho'. if you're referring to her LB days, then stop living in the past. I don't think a Ho is someone who has has boyfriends for a year, dating random people every week and sleeping with them is a "ho". anyway you were right on about Lauren.
Bottom line, we all know for a FACT that Kristin sometimes pays for someone to take her pics. It's all up to you how you want to translate that.
Well, I do agree that Lauren is doing reality tv to further her career and get her name out there. That's exactly what famewhores do and its the same thing that Kristin is doing.
If The Hills was really that focused on Lauren's internship, I might buy that she doesn't like the spotlight, but its more focused on the drama of her life. Plus she's always out at places like Les Deux and saying stuff like "I love TMZ" to the cameras. I hate to say it but she sounds like Paris Hilton when she does that.
Anyway, both Kristin and Lauren are famewhores and I think people are naive if they don't see it. What annoys me more about it with Lauren is how disingenuous she is about it.
Lauren ONLY goes to the clubs to shoot for her show. If Kristin had been offered a spin-off by MTV she would have taken it. LC is making money and reaping the benefit of her likability. The girl have always been more popular and liked than kristin, hence the teen awards last year. Do we ever see pics of Lauren at home, in grocery stores, or even leaving restaurants? Nope. Do you see these pics of jessica alba? jessica biel? or any other famous actress? Nope. Only people who have nothing to offer the public pay photographers to take their pictures. Umm kristin cavallari.
Plus, LC is young. Why should she not go to club? She does not go out like Kristin did when she first moved to LA.All haters can say what they want but LC is a darling and the media as well as world knows that.
Who cares if the photos are staged? Some of us enjoy them. If you don't enjoy them, don't click on them. It's that easy. The same goes for photos of Lauren. If you don't like her, don't bother looking and posting negative stuff either. There really doesn't have to be a Kristin side and a Lauren side. Many of us like both of them!! Enough already!!
Lauren is using her fame in hopes of becoming a clothing designer and to sell her clothes. Kristin is using her fame to sell herself. End of story.
i dont think filming "5 years of your life" is exactly being a famewhore. the producers of MTV sign her up for more seasons, and if she wants to achieve her fashion career, than i dont understand why she would pass up that offer.
as for kristin, shes done laguna beach for 2 years, did that "dream" show on w/e channel that was for another season, and has been trying to act in movies. plus her "boyfriend" that you said was a chill guy and doesnt get out in the spotlight actually hosted an mtv show himself, and alo plays a character on "what i like about you"

Photographers take pictures of lots of celebrities doing everyday things, it's not just Kristin. And regardless of whether she hired people to take pictures of her, which I doubt, she's hardly a 'famewhore.'
And to make such petty comments like 'Oh Lauren's more famous than Kristin', 'Lauren doesn't do that!' is just petty.
Kristin's not doing anything significant so why does it have such a big impact on you? Does it matter that people are taking pictures of her around her home, or people are taking an interest in her?
Hardly. Both Lauren and Kristin want to further their careers, and they both have things going for them. There's no need to insult them personally or make petty comments for no reason!
I for one am thrilled to see Kristin in more photo ops. I was getting super annoyed reading US Weekly, OK and all those other mags and seeing creepy Heidi in every issue. Kristin prob felt the same way and did something about it. Good for her and good for us : ) LESS Heidi is a GREAT thing in my book ;)

Speidi has been blacklisted by US Magazine right now. I don't know how long it will last. Janice Minn was very upset when she found out Spencer played her. He was running to In touch and Life and Style telling them them the so called exclusives he had. US Magazine thought they were the only ones he was feeding information to.

MTV is currently reviving House of Style which LC is going to be one of the host for next year. Thus, Lauren will only continue to succeed.
Hey, even if Lauren sinks into oblivion tomorrow, I think she'll be fine because she's walking away with a lot of money and a career in fashion will always be there for her. So even when the MTV camera's go away, fashion will always be there.

Kristin is getting paid more to host her 21st birthday than Lauren's made from starring in 5 seasons of reality TV. MTV does not pay well. The Mark deal is the first significant amount of cash for Lauren. Kristin made the same or more with her Bongo deal. Neither girl is hurting for dough...

They're both earning good money, and use publicity opportunities to their advantage. Both girls are quite savvy when it comes to getting attention when they want it, and both are succeeding in their current work situations. There's no need to hate on either of them when they're both happy getting good money, and they're hardly exploiting themselves to do so.

The osbournes got 20 million for their last 2 seasons (4 people) because they were no 1 in the network at the time. kristin 2006: bongo campaign (100k), club appearances (7k each), movies (50k), pap photos (20k each)
I would say she could have easily made in excess of 1 million dollars. In 2006 alone, kristin did multiple club appearances. If she does sell her personal photos to the paps then she would've made a killing from that as well.
Though, there a lot of overhead expenses such as publicist, agent, manager, hair, makeup, trainer, stylists, living expenses, etc that may actually eat into her earnings. I still think she has made enough that she never has to work again.
Lauren has fashion to fall back on. She does not need to worry about cameras going away. With so many people anticipating for her fashion line. The girl doesn't need to worry about money ever in the long run.
In fact, even Kristin is trying to get in on the fashion thing with a swim line. Since the acting thing isn't quite working out. She knows there's a chance for longevity there.
