The Hills star, 22, confirmed on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show Thursday that she landed a part in an upcoming film.
"I go next week to film it," she said, adding, "I don't know how much I'm allowed to say!"
Patridge said she'll play "the girlfriend of this cocky guy who think he's the s--t ... and I kind of have him wrapped around my fingers.
"It's cool," she added, "because on The Hills, I don't have that."
The role is "giving me the chance to show people [what I can do]," said Patridge, who recently canned her agent for not getting her enough gigs. "This is why I moved to L.A."
It's not Patridge's only project: She just began shooting the fourth season of The Hills, which debuts in August with 19 new episodes.
"The drama is still unfolding," she promised.
She dismissed talk of any tension between her and Lauren Conrad. (On Monday's episode, Patridge felt shut out by Lauren's close friendship with Lauren "Lo" Bosworth.)
"It's not like, 'Boo hoo, feel bad for Audrina,'" she said. "Sometimes on the show, things come across differently." (See Audrina's baby photo here.)
She said she and Lauren address the rift on Monday's season finale.
She added that Lauren wasn't so thrilled about her renewed friendship with Montag.
"Lauren is very big on you-know-what-you-did," Patridge said. "I looked at the whole [sex tape] situation. It's none of my business. I am the neutral one on the show — I can't fight other people's battles."

I wonder why no one has reminded Audrina of how horribly Heidi treated her when Spencer flirted with her. She seems to have completely forgotten. It wasn't just the sex tape rumour that caused the rift between Audrina and Heidi--their rift started long before that.
Audrina has said in interviews she's never one to hold a grudge but she's also repeatedly said that she and heidi don't hang out (at all). i totally understand Audrina wanting to stay out of the line of fire.. Lauren kind of doesn't have a choice but Audrina does. Been there - done that. Besides why put yourself out there when you don't get it in return? I don't seeing Lauren rushing to Audrina's defense with all of Lo's constant digs, her eyerolling and general all purpose b*tchery torwards Audrina...
I agree with 11:38. Heidi tried to black ball Audrina early on. Audrina also seems to forget the Justin Bobby caused her a lot of heartache and maybe Lauren is upset to see Audrina let him in once again. Lauren's friends have loyalty issues, not the other way around. Having said that, I totally agree with 12:24, Lo is living up to her name when she makes those snotty comments to Audrina because that really isn't her business.
I remember in season 2 the whole incident where Lauren blew off at Heidi in the club. Audrina was right their yelling at Heidi along with LC.
Something tells me this movie role is going to be a "movie" like "The Hottie and the Nottie." Can you say straight to DVD?
As much as I hate Heidi, and think it's lame that Audrina is speaking to her, remember how Lauren talked to Audrina when Heidi was still made at her? I suppose that's different though because Audrina didn't actually do anything wrong, so why wouldn't Lauren speak to her. Heidi is a different story. What a jackass.

whitney has always been pretty neutral - i think audrina just wants to do the same and just stay out of the fray.
We all see how annoyed Lauren gets having to answer questions about speidi. Can you imagine ALWAYS getting asked questions about speidi too when it's not even your "drama"? There is nothing wrong w/ being neutral and not wanting to be a party to all this public feuding,
