I don't think there is a sex tape. If there is, I don't believe Jason was trying to sell it. Why? Because why would Lauren still speak to him? She even entertained the idea (it seemed) of getting back together with him before she knew about his fiance. And this was after her fallout with Heidi. There's no way she'd associate with an asshole who tried to sell a sex tape of them.
And that's the "proof" (supposedly, falsely) of how Spencer and Heidi "know" it exists. Because they claim they saw her cry about him trying to sell the tape. Bullshit.
It's pretty sad they're pushing this story when they even admit there's probably no chance of this alleged tape coming out. And it's not like either Lauren or Jason would admit it if there was. So why even bother?
Heidi and Spencer don't realize that when the Hills ends, nobody will care for them and they will be a huge running joke of the past.
I think they're unafraid to talk about it because they know it's true. I don't think they would keep making it such a huge deal if it wasn't true- that would be too much of a risk and too stupid of a career move. Heidi said she tried with Lauren to get it back for a whole year. People who have nothing to hide aren't afraid to talk. Take the Natalee Holloway case, Joran Van der Sloot WONT talk. In court, he said there was nothing he wished to say. He didn't help in the search for her body, he was uncooperative, he said he would reveal the truth someday....when he felt like it. Heidi on the other hand, has nothing to hide and thus she's willing to talk about the issue all day long.
The fact that they're "unafraid to talk" doesn't mean what they're saying is true. Heidi 'says' she tried to get it back for a whole year? Why should anyone believe her? She lied on camera about the Jen Bunney hookup and was more than happy to let Jen Bunney take the fall. When she went to Lauren's apartment to 'apologize' to Lauren and was asked on film whether Spencer did spread the rumors she hemmed and hawed and said she couldn't be responsible for what he did. (shady) Again, neither of these two idiots saw the tape so they have no idea what was on it, yet they talk about it publicly as if it's fact. If you pay attention to these two you would see that they spin stories (like the one about Joel Madden and Nicole Ritchie) to make it look as if they are never at fault and that it's always the other person. Never do they take responsibility for what they do. I think it's hilarious the way they keep digging themselves deeper and deeper into a hole. Do they have any friends yet? lol

US Weekly is such a crappy, crappy magazine. Their rotation of covers is Britney Spears, someone from the Hills, and then some other over covered celebrity like Jennifer Lopez or Jessica Simpson. Same exact stories every time. Obviously, they're going to cover celebrities, but surely there's a wider variety of stories than what they print.
There was a tape of Jason and Lauren kissing but there was no sex on it so no one wanted to buy it. Since Heidi and Spencer never saw the tape they can't be sure what was or wasn't on it. Therefore they are wrong to go on TV and radio insisting it was a sex tape. It's obvious they're doing it for publicity.
