If he really liked her, he would have dated her. She threw herself at him all the time, he had/still has every opportunity to turn it into something. But he never does, as such he is obviously just not that interested in her. He probably just likes the ego boost of having a pretty girl so infatuated with him (which would also explain why he seems jealous when she has another guy).
She also is not his type imo. As evidenced by his past serious relationships, Kristin and Hayden, he goes for very strong women with very strong personalities. Lauren does not fit that bill at all (not that that's a bad thing, that's just not her personality. As such, the type of guy that would be interested in having Lauren as his gf would most likely not be interested in Kristen or Hayden).
So yeah, let's not become deluded about Stephen's feelings for Lauren, Lauren is already deluded enough for all of us.
I don't get why people are saying their relationship is unhealthy and that he is using her etc, yes that was true when they were in High School, just because they still hang out together doesn't mean they are anything other than friends and that their current relationship isn't a healthy one.
I believe they both have stated time and time again they would always remain friends and have a close bond. In candids she was holding hands with Doug but in these she and Stephen look like two friends going to see a movie.
Their past is in the past, if they still hook up now and again its their business but I think they are only friends and there is nothing wrong with that.
People change, their relationship isn't going to be exactly as it was on Laguna so you can't really say that he is using her if you don't even know if they are dating.
