They may not be speaking to each other any more, but Heidi Montag says she has no hard feelings toward her ex-BFF, Lauren Conrad.
Heidi, the one-time sidekick to the Hills star, says that she still thinks her former roomie is a "great person", even though she forced her to choose between her best friend and her boyfriend.
"The truth is, I have no animosity," said the 21-year-old, appearing on The View this morning with the man in question, on-off beau, Spencer Pratt.
"I think Lauren is a great person and I am not that kind of person -- I don't hate somebody.
"I don't have feelings like that. I'm on a higher path."
When the hosts asked if she thought Lauren felt the same way, Heidi replied: "I don't know. I just try and be the best person I can.
"Obviously our friendship didn't work out because she was saying, 'you either have to choose your boyfriend or me.'
"And I was like, 'Well, I didn't like your boyfriend but I wouldn't do that to you -- I'm not that kind of friend.'"
The 21-year-old, who just released her latest single, Fashion, on Monday, also told the show why she decided to speak publicly about her boob and nose job last year.
"Well, for me it was just a life changing thing and, you know, I think a lot of people go through insecurities and I was teased through a lot of things my whole life," she said.
"Instead of speculation I wanted to give my side of it and why I did it."

I love how she tries to act nice by saying that she has no hard feelings towards Lauren, and then automatically saying "Our friendship ended because Lauren made me choose". She's such bullshit. Your friendship ended Heidi because you were an AWFUL friend. You are the most selfish human being on television.
the sad thing is the ladies on the show and the audience probably bought her schtick because they don't know any better. It's scary to think that Heidi's lies are spreading and people believe her.
Actually, the sad thing is how people forget so easily the real reason why Lauren and Heidi aren't friends. It's all based on whims and not on facts.

I think when some of you mature and gain more life experience, you'll understand Heidi's side of the story. I think a lot of adults side with Heidi because they have the maturity to see beyond the high school drama and they know how the press works and relationships and fake girls like Lauren. Honestly, Lauren was so awful to Heidi in season 2. I couldn't believe how much she screamed at her and how many bitch fits she threw. Why couldn't she just concentrate on her own relationships instead of sticking her nose other people's business. Love is one of the most wonderful things in the world and you have to let it play out. Heidi didn't stop Lauren when she dated Jason, she let it play out and then stood there by her and supported her when her and Jason broke up.

If Heidi was so mature then she wouldn't have gone to the press to profit from Lauren's supposed sex tape. But to date, there hasn't been a tape. Heidi and Spencer's story about the tape and the reasoning for the fall out with Lauren changes every week. And I'm not sure why you think adults side with Heidi. Do you have any evidence to prove that statement? The facts are Spencer tried to manipulate the situation so he could weasel his way onto the Hills by playing off Audrina and Heidi. Don't you remember? Then when he and Heidi saw an opportunity to increase their fame, they ditched their friends to do so. Sounds like they love fame more than each other.
The real reason Lauren and Heidi aren't friends was because Spencer got involved and wouldn't let them work out their friendship.
By the time Heidi apologized, he had caused so much damage on his web site and in interviews, (with Heidi playing innocent) that there was no change for reconciliation.
Jason may have been a crappy bf to Lauren, but he never attacked Heidi publicly even though he couldn't stand her. They were able to work things out without him butting in.
All this 'when you get older and get life experience' line is b.s.
When you all get older: end all unhealthy ties like Lauren did.
Whatever Lauren's faults are they do not hold a candle to Heidi being a phony, and Spencer being controlling and verbally abusive.
^I don't know...Sometimes I feel like you people are the only ones feeding the feud. I personally am SO beyond it. I think life is way too short to have such animosity for someone. Even if she was a "phony" as you say, there are a LOT worse things out there that she could be. She could be a druggie, she could be an alcoholic, she could be a bad mother like Britney Spears, she could be a murderer, a rapist...I mean, use your imagination. What about Kathy Griffin...her whole life is based around trashing other celebrities, getting stuff for free and getting plastic surgery and yet millions of people love her. I feel like this small niche of Lauren fans are the only ones who care about the feud and keep it alive...and that's really sad to me. I don't know how you can have much hatred in your lives. So what if someone makes a mistake, or a couple of mistakes...we've all done that. The girl WASN'T EVEN 21 at the time. The police chief at Golden West Police Academy said a couple months ago that people in their 20s are just starting to figure out who they are and until then, it's natural that they're going to make a lot of mistakes.
Stop feeding the feud...just let it die. It's SUCH old news.

10:46, are you kidding me? Heidi still keeps the feud going on EVERY interview she is on. I haven't heard Lauren talk about it in years. We comment to what Heidi keeps saying.
10:46, just because people formed opinions on the feud doesn't mean they have animosity toward the players.
I'm as over the feud as the next person, but young people can learn what's acceptable in a friendship and what isn't, even within the bounds of making mistakes.
Trust issues were broken here and cruel, demeaning things were posted on the internet. As far as I'm concerned, young people should take note about how to kill a friendship. This is a classic case.
I totally agree that Spencer is the one that kept them from being friends. I feel that if Spencer had just stayed out of it Lauren and Heidi would have worked things out on their own, but Spencer had to make it difficult. I feel that Lauren Faught a good fight in trying to keep Heidi as a friend and i think eventually she had to just let go and what ever happens...happens. Then the whole sex tape thing happened and Heidi and Spencer went on a Lauren bash and i feel that was when Lauren realized Heidi wasn't a true friend and had to cut her from her life.

he controls who she hangs with and what she does..
thats the real reason as why she has no friends at all..
