Laguna Beach's third season debuts tonight, and it features "a whole new generation," according to MTV, so it's sort of like Saved By the Bell: The New Class. It debuts tonight at 10 p.m. ET.
The show features a new narrator, Tessa, plus eight other regular cast members. Among them are Chase and Kelan, who have their own rock band, Open Air Stereo.
The reviews suggest this season is going to be as good as the previous ones. "Tessa is likable compared to Kyndra and Cami, the deliciously loathsome queen bees ruling this social jerk circle," The Boston Herald's Mark A. Perigard's writes. "Not nearly as sexy as they think they are, Kyndra and Cami share a quarter of a brain yet manage to instill fear throughout their high school clique." The Hartford Courant says the cast includes "layabout girls who stress about boys and have daggers out for rival girls (for reasons they seem to forget) and boys who are more clueless than ever, whose maintenance of abdominal muscles seems their main goal."
But The New York Times' Virginia Heffernan says there might be a problem because Tessa "cannot carry the voice-over. Second, and worse: she’s not popular. For 'Laguna Beach,' that’s downright ominous." And "Tessa's exclusion from the ranks of haughty Kyndra and scheming Cami, the big dogs here, is going to suffuse the drama with status anxieties that have no place on 'Laguna Beach.'"

Seems like there is gonna be alot of DRAMA this season i cant wait to watch, and see what happens between jessica smith, and cameron lol she always gets hurt by guys
Well that's a little bit of a harsh article...
I'm so excited for this show, mostly because jessica will bring some drama and to see what some of the old cast is doing. Can't wait to see it. LOL. Can't really judge any of the new cast yet, except for I know I will never like Cami!
I might give it a watch and see if I like it. I know I really liked the first group.

im so glad that some of the old cast is still in lb. its sad that alex h. doesn't even talk to kristin anymore after they were like best friends.
I'm watching right now, and can't believe how much I already can't stand Cami, kyndra, or their friends. They are so superficial and all ugly. Tessa is like the only good looking one! I like jessica too. Kristin was so real and I miss her! Kelan is cute, but the other guys are nasty!
WOW Kyndra and Cami's clique are MEAN! JEEZ. At least when Kristin was mean she didn't brag about it. I think I am going to like tessa and raquel the best!

well, i just saw the show, but i did like it, but before i was like i do not care about this season something was different but it does have me turned around to just caring to see the new drama, and i was surprised to see the other cast members Alex m,h, and Taylor. i see the drama of the other cast members is still on full force b/c i wonder why both alex's were living together but i guess we mit find out soon i hope. kristen is all drama. - giggles

I think Kyndra and her clique are pure evil. I like Tessa, Raquel, and Breanna. I wish they were all friends though. It sucks that Breanna and Tessa don't like each other.
I like Tessa and Raquel, they seem really nice and pretty. They look better than Cami and Kyndra who think they are the greatest things since sliced bread and they are really mean. It was so good to see some of the old cast members, but I'm wondering how come Jessica is dealing with a junior in high school? She's 19 and she's really pretty, but she needs a boost of self-esteem
What would make parents so upset about this article? It's right on. Kyndra (& Cami) are not pretty, they're clearly skanks and Kyndra thinks she's such a bad ass (everyone's afraid of her-Rocky) Why? Bring her to my neighborhood, she wouldn't survive a minute.
i watched the show last night. And i was just going to watch a little bit bc i miss the old cast. But it looks good and i like Tessa and her friends but not cami or kyndra.
And i was glad to see some old cast but Jessica and Cameron? But it does look like a good season.

7:46... I read somewhere both the Alex's were friends before LB and then they kind of forced them to not be friends and that after the show ended they started being friends again... Alex lived w/Kristin for like a month before moving in with alex.
I get the feeling LB is going the way of the Real World...I was kinda disappointed in how scripted the drama seems in this one. The original two seasons seemed a little less fake then the first episode of this one has given off, but we'll see how the season progresses.
I was surprised too to see both Alex's, Taylor and Jessica too and I can't believe either that Jessica was dating an 11th grader. I'm sorry is it just me or is that guy Cameron so not good looking?? Yuck! He has an ok body but his face...round face, no lips and way too many teeth in his mouth...like a shark. I thought "this is who all the girls are swooning over??!!"
there is no comparison between kyndra and kristin they are so different in every way. i love kyndra she looks like she could be very sweet until you do something wrong to her. i also like all the other girls too except cami. i already love this season and it's barely the first episode.

I loved the new eposide but lk everyone i don't lk Cami or any of them. My fav person is Rocky only cause she's a lot lk me i think. But the way mtv made it seem was the rocky was the mean one and cami and kyndra were nice. whatev.

I myself don't see anything wrong with the fact that Jessica is going after a junior. That is only two years younger than her, big deal. I have dated guys that much older and younger. I feel bad for her that she is going after another "jason" though. She needs to think about her choice of guys a little harder from now on. Poor chic!

I agree, the only part of LB I like is when they show the old cast members. Kristin is 100x prettier Than Kyndra. Kyndra is not even cute! Her voice and laugh sounds like a man.
No...it's just the opposite 3:45 am; LC looks just like her dad and Breanna doesn't really look like anyone, but resembles her mom more than her dad, that's for sure.
This season seems to be filled with so much drama. kyndra and cami's group are total bitches, i think this articule is right, its not like they're anything special to act like that. especially when tessa and her friends came! i like tessa, she seems really down to earth-i dont really like her voice tho, doesnt really sound that great for like a narrator. i dont get what group breanna is supposed to be in tho, and why do the other girls hate rocky? i dont think cameron is cute AT ALL! i think chase is a total cutie tho

kyndra is very pretty she has great style, and her room is sick she doesn't seem to be that much of a bitch and if her and her friends were angels we wouldn't watch the show, "drama" is what makes the show interesting. Laguna Beach, or Kristen, didn't become so popular being nice, they're just giving us what we want, right?

there's nothing pretty about kyndra, except maybe her body. everything else just looks fake and nasty. she's the kind of "pretty" that's going to look washed-up by the time she's 25.
